Out of the corner of her eye she could already tell Kan was being his usual bratty self; why was it so hard for him to just make friends, or even just shut up and take some advice once in awhile? Mai was certain she had the most difficult brother on the entire island, if not the entire world. Unfortunately all of their years as brother and sister still hadn't helped her find a way to change that about him. Even her sister Warriors were starting to lose patience with his whining and disrespect, and there had been talks of discontinuing his training if it continued. No, it couldn't be allowed to happen; then he'd be at home complaining instead of out of the house. That would really, really suck.
At least there was the blacksmith standing in front of her and he was a welcome distraction from the general irritation that generally followed her brother around. Right now she was almost glad that he hadn't been able to find the dojo. "Good, we always need some new weapons to practice with- because of some of the carelessness of the newer warriors we tend to run out fast," the Warrior replied with a scathing look toward her younger brother. "If you can wait just a few minutes for me to make sure my brother isn't going to cut any more parts of himself off I'll show you the way to the dojo while dropping him off." At the last part her voice rose a bit louder in a subtle threat directed straight at Kan and clear enough that he should be able to pick it up. Unless the brat deliberately missed it that was.
With a respectful bow to the man she walked the ten paces or so to where Kan was rudely trying to ignore the other newcomer. It didn't look like the sort of situation where he was justified in being so disrespectful, and from the small bits of their conversation she'd been able to hear he'd made a lot of sense too. "Kan, he's trying to help you, don't be such a bastard," she told him point-blank, then looked at the Water-Tribe man he'd been talking to. "Sorry about him, he has a lot of pride and nothing to back it up with. I appreciate you trying to help, he's just impossible."

Looking over at the other two males that were close by, Saizo had to wonder how he showed up at the same time. He looked back to the Kiyoshi Warrior in front of him and nodded to her. He had no problem with waiting and he really didn't mind having someone direct him to where he needed to drop off his shipment.
Standing off to the side, he set the bag of weapons down and waited on the woman to deal with the one who seemed to be her younger brother, and the other tourist.

Kazu tilted his head in confusion. "Who the hell practices with daggers and doesn't try to learn about killing?" he wondered in his head. As of this point he thought the boy was more then a little ignorant to the happenings of the world.
He shook his head as the boy pouted like a spoiled child. Now he was sure there was nothing that he could relate to the boy now. Sure he was young like him when he started using weapons but he sure as hell didn't act like this kid did. He looked over to see that the women who was talking to the other man was walking towards them at that moment.
He faced her and nodded his head as she approached and spoke. "There's no need to be sorry. It wasn't your actions so you have no control over them. And there is of course pride in everyone. But is them who choose whether to back it up or not. No one is impossible, but if they are not willing to learn then there's no point on trying to teach." he said as he shrugged his shoulders. "What i don't understand is how you say your not going to try to kill anyone with these techniques of yours. What exactly do you plan on doing when the war is brought to your own doorstep and you have to fight against the nine hells itself? Arte you going to get you dagger stuck in its armor and fall over or are you actually going to try and protect what you care about. Its your choice." he said as he looked the kid in the eyes with a emotionless look.
He then looked back up to the women again, "My apologies for i am rambling." he said scratching his head a bit as he tilted his head cracking his neck a bit. "Well if you need to show that man to the Dojo you may go ahead i will bother this child no more if he so wishes." he said not really caring either way. He would either have company and be able to help someone out or he would go back to his own relaxation and sleep the day away as he was prior to the meeting.

Kan wasn't too happy about being lectured, he got enough of that from his dad and the teachers, he didn't need it from complete strangers. He glanced at his sister when she called him a bastard, when was he not being a "bastard" by her standards? He looked to the side, away from his sister and the man. "I don't intend on killing any one or anything, these are only for self-defense and show." he muttered as he semi-thought about what his sister said. Yah he was coming off as a bit rude to this guy. He was only trying to help, though no one asked for his opinion. When it came down to going to the dojo he didn't really want to, maybe if this guy tagged along he might distract the instructors enough for them to forget what happened. "Sorry for having an attitude." he said barley audible. He may have been in a bad mood but he still wanted to leave on a good note, strangers could end as comrades eventually with the war and such going on.
He didn't know why the hell there was a war any way. He glanced as his sister again "I don't want to go back to the dojo until the instructors have cooled down, if I go back now I'll be kicked out of the group. Than dad will complain about how much of a failure I am again and make me feel horrible." he dropped his arms and fully looked at his older sister "Can't going back wait? I know they won't say it was an accident, they have trying to get rid of me for months and this is just the thing they've been waiting for."

The blacksmith seemed content to wait to one side, though she could feel his impatience almost like a mental aside- understandable really, his pay probably came with dropping off the weapons. Everyone had to eat. The salt air and sand probably didn't do anything good for all of the steel either. Hopefully Mai-dee could diffuse this situation quickly enough that no one would be put out and Kan wouldn't have time to go into a full-blown tantrum. A long-order wish perhaps, but miracles could happen.
Her luck held out; her little brother went sullen at her statement rather than shouting and she was even able to hear the other boy's statement. It was pretty hard to disagree with him, especially since she thought the same way, but it was Kan's choice what he learned. As much as she sometimes wanted to they couldn't open up his skull and force the information into it, so the only option was to try and get him to go through the motions in the hopes he'd finally have it sink in one day. It was after the other man's statement that Kan gave a sort of apology and Mai sighed. "He's just a kid, he just needs more time," she said in quiet support of her younger brother, then smiled. "I'm sure Kan means what he said."
So, that's why he was practicing out here. This wasn't very good at all. As must as she hated to admit it Mai knew that the dojo was the safest place for Kan, where at least there would be eyes on him to keep him from starting trouble. "They're not going to kick you out, they just don't want you to be careful. If you go back and show them that you're sorry, and explain what happened, I know they'll keep you. The might make you do extra chores but that never killed anybody." He wouldn't like it, but there wasn't much to do about it, and if he didn't get kicked out he's hopefully be glad of the work and the chance to prove their trust.

Saizo's gaze and attention had roamed to the ocean behind him. He kept his ears focused on the three around him, but let his mind drift with the waves. His thoughts started to wander to what was in his bag, mentally going over what he had crafted, mended, and sharpened. When he was sure that he had filled his order he turned his gaze back towards the three. They had all seemed to gather their attention on the youngest male's style of battling... well... practicing. Sai blinked and picked the bag up again, slinging the strap over his shoulder. He walked up to the others, thinking to make himself seem a bit less anti social for once.
Looking lazily at the dummy and the boy, Saizo chuckled a bit. He knew how the boy felt, he wasn't formally trained with his own weapon, but found a comfort with it from practicing the large polearm for so long. He had a feeling the boy would develop his own 'groove' with the weapons, but would have to be patient long enough, and listen to proper instruction. Despite his thoughts, Saizo remained silent, not letting any hint of him assessing the boy's situation leak onto his face.

Kazuma stood with a eased figure as the woman spoke. He glanced out past the ocean over to what he could see of the Earth Kingdom. It WAS a good question to ask to ones self, when will the war be brought here?
He looked down to the kid as he once again stated that he didn't have any intention of killing anyone or anything. He slightly shook his head and shrugged off his statement. And when the kid attempted at a apology all he did was nod silently in agreement.
The woman spoke again and talked about him as though he was a simple child and not able to do anything at all. A kid.....he looked to be no older then 16. A kid is barely of talking age and still running around playing with toys. It seemed as though she was babying the youngster to him, but who could blame her? He was her younger brother.
Then she turned to the "kid" and spoke with him. He was literally acting like he was 10 years old. Not much for maturity he supposed. They were talking to each other and were talking about some sort of Dojo that they were either both apart of or mayhaps just the boy. But it seemed as though he had done something foolish and was now running away from his mishaps. He honestly didn't feel like speaking to the child anymore. If he was going to be a stubborn mule about training and be this whiny all the time he wanted nothing to do with him. And since the female seemed to have her own doings and business he supposed now was a nice time to exit himself out of the conversations.
"Well, i suppose i have said my piece and i will leave it at that. No point for me to hang around somewhere i am not needed." he said as he flicked out a wave to the two with his hand and turned around back to the spot that he had laid just moments before the trio had slightly interrupted his nap.
All this meeting did to him was remind him how pointless it was for him to try and mingle with anyone. No one had the same militaristic outlook on life that he had anywhere but the Bulwark, or so he thought. The world is full of scared children apparently. He had made a slight attempt to speak with another at a time on his way here but the man simply told him he didn't really want to do any battle, he just liked to daydream.
As he thought to himself maybe it was the bulwark that had changed him. Maybe he is the one that is different and all the other people of the world are the normal ones. This is something he never thought of. Interesting thought, but not something he wanted to dwell on. Slowly he started to walk off and drifted into his own thoughts and didn't really catch the tail end of the two's conversation nor did he really care at this point. If they wanted to make more small talk he might comply, or he might even possibly choose to ignore them.
Apparently his body and mind just wanted to get out of this "vacation" and get back to the front lines. Life is so much simpler there.

Kan glared at his sister, what did she know about his training? "Of coarse Queen Know-it-All" he said in an irritated tone before starting to walk, ignoring the other bender. Why do benders always think they are better than any one else? his thoughts seemed to seep through, the annoyance almost showing as he walked toward the dojo. He knew he would be kicked out soon, he really did try his hardest in class, he was just clumsy and liked to ask about things and question why they did certain things. That seemed to annoy the warriors the most. Besides he would much rather be helping out others than being trained by a bunch of girls who thought he was worthless. Hell for all he knew they though he wasn't worthy of breathing! His sister would probably say he was throwing a tantrum or some junk like that, he didn't see it that way, he just wanted to be treated differently. The more he was treated like a kid the more he would act like one. Give what they serve. That is the way he saw it, though it wasn't the best method to dealing with things.

It seemed like there was no way to deal with Kan that didn't end in him storming off like some girl whose boyfriend was seen with the local slut. At least he wasn't crying or shouting about how unfair it all way; the one comment he made was almost nothing compared to how much of a scene he could make if he put his mind to it. Such remarkable restraint, Mai thought dryly to herself, watching her brother walk off and shaking her head at his behavior. He refused to earn the respect he wanted, expecting it to be handed to him like a sweet on his birthday. That wasn't how things worked here.
Unfortunately this little show seemed to have finally broken the patience of the other young man who'd been speaking to them. Just great, now he has a bad impression of us. Mom's not going to like that all. After a moment of surprise she started after the man with a few steps, then gave an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry you had to see that- I guess it's a boy thing, he just doesn't listen to anything that anyone has to say," the Kyoshi Warrior said, trying to lighten things but probably failing. How could one bratty brother turn so much sour. "Was there anything I could help you with? The dojo's not far, and most people seem to like to visit there."
Likely that was where Kan was heading as well, but hopefully being at the training area would cool his nerves enough that he could make a good apology. "I know you were trying to help him, and he had no reason to behave the way he did. Thank you for making the effort though." For a moment it had almost seemed like Kan was going to listen, but then he'd made his stand about his knives and not killing, which was where everything had gone sour. "With how much he cuts himself you'd think he would've finally gotten that knives aren't toys."

Kazuma couldn't believe the amount of immaturity he had just seen out of a boy that seemed as if he was old enough to be doing things on his own just fine. the kid must have been a spoiled runt from child birth. Unless he was just naturally a baby. But it wasn't his problem.
He had begun to recline in his sleeping spot when he heard the movements of someone once again. From what he could tell from the heavier yet more dexterous steps it was the female warrior who had been present coming to speak with him. He opened up his ears as she began to speak.
"A boy thing? I was never like that myself..." he said with a slight distaste for her comment. "And no, theres nothing you can help me with, i was simply required to take some time off from my duties at the Bulwark. So I'm trying to make this fly by as quickly as possible. And if the Dojo is where your brother seems to be going then i doubt that i would want to follow....but its a possibility." he stated with slight interest in the place.
"Children will stay children as long as they cling to thoughts that are so far from the truth such as his. If you plan on learning to fight, you learn to protect yourself and others that you care about. He doesn't seem to understand that sometimes, to protect those that you hold close you NEED to kill, to take someones or somethings life. But it'll be his choice when the time comes. Lets just hope he makes the right one eh?" he said as he sat up yawning slightly.

As Kan walked he muttered under his breath about not wanting to go back to the dojo that day. The girls would probably make a huge scene or something about how 'disrespectful' he was about things. It wasn't his fault! He had learned that no mater how many times he tried to apologize to them or even tried to help clean up he would just get yelled at and told how stupid he was. Like that made him want to stay. But despite that, he couldn't quit, he had to become a full warrior and shove it in his sister's face, to prove that he could do something that wasn't childish or infinitely retarded.
He glanced over his shoulder at his sister talking to that guy. Oh joy, she was trying to make friends with a stranger, she probably would invite him over for dinner next! Despite how much he hated it, he had to deal with it. If he showed just a slight bit of restraint maybe his sister wouldn't jump on his back about it again. Though he had plenty of restraint, he just made the decision to not use it.

Everything he'd said so far she could find pretty easy to agree with- well, except for the idea that this wasn't some boy thing that was a secret conspiracy against people with sense. That seemed a little far-fetched, but maybe it was a brother thing instead. "I understand what you mean," she said in a steady tone as she crossed her arms and nodded. "That's why the Kyoshi Warriors exist in the first place, and why I joined them. Someone has to be able to make the hard choices."
So, this guy was from the Bulwark, and on break. Maybe it would be alright if she asked him a few questions- or maybe not. After all he was here to take a break from it, but he'd brought it up and if he REALLY didn't want to talk about it he'd probably say so. He seemed pretty honest, and it was nice to talk to a guy she wasn't related to that was around her own age, even if he probably had a bad impression of her so far.
"I'm sure Kan will turn out alright in the end, he's just stubborn," she said, somehow oddly inclined to defend her younger brother. "That's what training is for, right? Not everyone can pick up things at the same pace, even at the Bulwark. I'll be going there soon too, once the senior Warriors decide I'm ready."
