Though it is mostly a military outpost these days, Gaoling has grown into a thriving metropolis due to the massive increase in their trade brought on by the soldiers stationed there. With naval protection from the Southern Islands and ground support from the mountains as well as the encamped fortress’s to the north, the protection of Gaoling is second only to Omashu, though the difference is hardly noticed. With the large number of forces that come, go, and stay, the entertainment industry is booming and now, more than ever, none is more popular than Earth Rumble IV. Many citizens have become farmers, fishermen, or merchants and all have risen on the social ladder due to the prosperity that has been brought to them. But as with any great growth, Gaoling has its seedy underbelly and is home to the growing Black Market trade with military and other items flooding in from the Si Wong Desert traders. This city has become the ultimate cultural experience offering a wide ranging variety of essentials and desires from gambling, resupplying, and fun to even pleasure.
