Overall Personality; Siin loves being in control, and it shows in how she carries herself. Business first, but if pleasure can be mixed in, why not? Being brought up in an aristocratic family, Siin has always had a very skewed view about those around her. Those that do not have wealth or power are beneath her, and not worthy of her time unless they impress her. Those that know of her in the political arena are very careful to avoid her if something concerning the wellbeing of others is involved. She speaks softly, but those adept at reading tones can tell when she is annoyed and such.
At the base of Siin’s personality is her sadism. She is a sadist, who loves to harm, and abuse others for her own pleasure. She enjoys torturing others via needles, or cruel bending. This trait is due to her high position in politics, and feeling in control. She can usually keep her cravings under control, and can function normally. She will use any dirty trick to achieve her goals. Siin is capable of loving affection, but there has been no one that she feels deserves this gift.
There are times when Siin feels moments of self loathing, and despair. These very rare moments are very well hidden, and are regarded by her as weaknesses. Her sheltered upbringing is most likely the cause of this inner doubt.
History Info
Home Country; Earth Kingdom
siblings; None
history; Once there was a group within the Dai Li that was employed by the Earth Kingdom to do unspeakable things to those who did not follow the order of the land. This group specialized in torture, and was well versed in the art of extracting information. The groups name was once synonymous with torture; the Nene Family. For years they had been used in by the Kingdom to extract, and torture enemies, and traitors.
The family that practiced this art gained social standing amongst the nobles, and before the decline of the Earth Kingdom were regarded as an asset. Though like many that were well off, the decline of the glorious Kingdom saw many of its people fall. The Nene family was not so unlucky. They actually retained their standing and wealth for the most part because of their skills.
Siin lived among these times. She was well off, and appeared happy. Like many in her social circle she was able to be tutored, and pampered along with her few wealthy friends. Her childhood was very bland from a viewpoint. Being brought up to think you are better than everyone definitely had affects in her personality, as did her discovery of her family’s practice at a young age, this was before the decline of the Earth Kingdom.
Years later Siin was the only practitioner of her now deceased Father and Mother’s art. She reluctantly did the bidding of the King, but felt she was being led by a leash while many corrupt nobles held more power than her. Siin wanted to be corrupt and hold power too. Siin’s appearance in the game of politics was unwelcomed at first, but she soon carved a place for herself after a few nobles and politicians went missing.
During her time carving out a position for herself Siin was offered bribes, like any politician, to support different ideas. This would be when her very different taste in company would come to light. It had often been thought that Siin was a normal woman who enjoyed the company of a male counterpart, but when offered bribes Siin often asked directly for either money or women. It was often thought that she kept these women around as servants, which she did, but an unlucky female politician had the misfortune of being mistaken for a bribe by Siin. A petition was made by a few nobles to have Siin’s title and position removed, but this petition never saw more than a few signatures due to the conspirators disappearing.
At one point during her political career it was widely believed that the reason Siin preferred the company of women was because she had been abused in some way. Many nobles hired detectives to find some dirt on Siin, hopefully something to make her leave the political stage. Unfortunately all that could be found out about Siin’s past other than her clean slate upbringing was that she had a string of dead pets. Had the detectives looked deeper into the Nene’s past relations they would have found that the death of her pets coincided with Siin’s female cousin leaving for the country.
The latest attempt to sling mud on Siin’s name was made after a corpse of a man was found near her manor. When questioned about the body the enigmatic woman only replied, “If it had been me who killed him, you would have never found the body.” Never the less a thorough search of Siin’s manor was conducted by the guard, but nothing was found to suggest Siin had killed anyone. A week later many politicians could not help but remark about the hastily built wall that now surrounded Siin’s manor.
Siin’s hunger for power was insatiable, and she found herself vying for the position of Leader of the Dai Li. Though she was only a basic beginner in bending she was crafty, cruel, and vicious. With the Earth Kingdom in the state it was currently, there would be little Siin could not do. Pulling people from their homes, monetary gain through the guise of securing wealth for the good of the people, and other corrupt acts were the only thing that floated around in Siin’s devious mind. With the Dai Li under her control she would be that much closer to the throne, and from that point…
Well…maybe it was time a woman stood alone on the throne.

In the PT Hangar two women were standing close to one another in the dark, the lights out, and the clouds covering the moon outside. No one else was present; they were completely alone, though they were keeping their voices low as to not be heard. One of the women was the blond pilot Etoile, while the other was her friend Sara. The two had been talking for at least half an hour, and the conversation had become tense, and heavy.
“Come on Sara,” Etoile pleaded, “Don’t tell me you’re actually happy with that dunderhead, Will!” The blond pilot had asked her friend to meet her in the hangar at night to discuss something important. She was trying to convince her friend that she would be better off being with someone like herself than some man who only wanted her for her looks.
Sara had agreed to talk with Etoile, and meet her in the PT Hangar, but this was starting to get out of hand. The young lady would have never come if she had known that Etoile would try and convince her to break off her relationship with her boyfriend, Will. The shorter, younger, and brown haired girl leaned against Etoile’s Schwert, her arms crossed, as if trying to shield herself from the conversation. “Etoile,” she said in a whisper, “You know we’ve talked about this before. I’m…” she stopped talking and looked away from her friend, “I’m just not interested in you like that. We’re just friends…we could never,” Sara stopped talking and yelped as Etoile pushed her against the Schwert forcefully, pinning her. Sara looked into the blond woman’s eyes which were now letting tears fall. “Etoile…” Sara looked away again, “No…I can’t…”
“I…I’m sorry…” Etoile said after releasing the young woman and taking a step back, “I always thought…I always thought you were interested in me.” Etoile felt confused, which was something she always tried to avoid, but for some reason she thought this approach might have worked. Etoile was mentally beating herself up at the moment, trying to understand how she could have miscalculated such a thing as this. A sickening feeling swept over her, and she felt lightheaded all of the sudden. “I need to sit down,” the pilot said before stumbling over to a metal bench nearby. She cradled her head with her hands and contemplated crying her eyes out, but the empty hangar might amplify her crying, a fear that she didn’t want to deal with at the moment. All she could do at the moment was to take shallow breaths, trying to calm herself down while holding her head.
Sara watched her friend as she suffered something she wasn’t used to seeing at all. Etoile was the strongest woman she knew and seeing this now was almost like a dream. Sara slowly approached her distraught friend, hoping there could be something she could do to help her through this. “Etoile,” Sara whispered as she sat down next to the pilot, “Etoile come on.” Sara tried sounding playful; maybe they could brush this off as a funny moment or something. “Etoile, if you don’t stop crying I’m not going to share anymore of my salads with you when we eat.”
Etoile slowly lifted her head and stared at her friend with a confused expression, “How…how can you just make light of this?” Sara’s widened a little as she heard Etoile speak, “I’m not trying to joke around with you Sara, this is…I was serious!” Etoile looked away in disgust, trying to restrain herself from socking the younger woman in the face. “I guess…” Etoile whispered, “I suppose this is all I deserve, not being with anyone I mean. The way I act doesn’t attract too many people…but…I always thought…” Etoile turned back to look at Sara, tears falling from her eyes as she did, “I just thought that maybe since we were such good friends that maybe we could…” Etoile suddenly stopped talking and screamed as loud as she could, causing the already confused Sara to jump a little. It was after her scream that Etoile broke down, now sobbing uncontrollably.
“This isn’t fair Etoile,” yelled Sara, who was now trying to hold back her own tears. “You can’t just ask me to leave my boyfriend who I’ve been dating for a year and a half! This isn’t fair at all! I’ve always known you liked me more than a friend, but we’ve always kept that distance just far enough apart to remain friends, and now you’ve…you’ve…” Sara could no longer hold back her own tears, “Now you’ve gone and made this awkward!”
There was a moment where neither said anything. They sat crying, sobbing, and then whimpering for a few minutes before either one could actually say anything coherent.
“Okay…” Etoile murmured through her quieter sobs, “I’m sorry…” Etoile wiped her tears away with her hands, trying to not look like a complete mess. She was by no means happy, but crying only does so much. The older blond didn’t have the nerve to look her now crying friend in the face, too ashamed of herself for putting such a good person like Sara through something like this. Etoile cleared her throat, which made her wince a little, it must have been raw from the scream, the crying…and the sobs. “I’ll understand Sara if you don’t want to talk to me anymore. I should be focusing on other things like…” Etoile stopped talking as she felt Sara’s soft hand touch her cheek. She looked to her friend who was now smiling, “What,” Etoile asked, a little confused at the situation.
Sara used her free hand to wipe away some of her tears before speaking, “Etoile, I’m a little surprised at you, saying you want to focus on other things…besides me.” Sara blushed after finishing her sentence and scooted closer to Etoile while cupping her face with both hands. “I…” Sara looked into the older woman’s eyes, “I’m not sure if this is the same as when you do it to a man, but…” Sara slowly pulled Etoile’s face towards her own and pressed her lips against the other woman’s.- Dialouge(Normal day activities and such) –
Mei Tan stood silently by the large dining room table, drinking another glass of the liquor slowly. Her hand had stopped bleeding, allowing her to drop the bloodied cloth back onto the table where she had gotten it and continue her fuming. She glared at the conversing trio, mostly at the prince though. He had insulted her, and his voice still ran through her head, making her angrier by the second. He may have been the prince, but to her he was still a brat that was lucky enough to be born into royalty. She fumed within her mind more until she noticed a well dressed man making his way towards her. Mei knew the man, she had done business with him many times, and he was an old friend of her fathers. Mei sighed as the man finally made his way in front of her, now standing only a few feet away. She slowly took her fan out of her right sleeve with her left hand and unfolded it, placing it in front of her mouth, “What do you want, Lee Tong?” Mei asked in an annoyed tone, “Shouldn’t you be busy?”
The bald, fat, short, and overly cheerful Lee Tong stood close to Mei Tan and chuckled, “Hello Lady Tan, you’re as beautiful as ever I see!” He slowly stretched out his chubby hand, almost as if to grab her inappropriately, but reached past her and grabbed a tray of meat. He sat the tray next to himself on the table and began to shove slivers of the meat into his large mouth.
Mei stared in disgust as she watched the large man stuff his face full of meat, “My goodness…” she said in disbelief. “You could at least try to act like you’re a bureaucrat.” She averted her eyes away from the feeding man as he chewed with his mouth open, making disgusting sounds in the process. “What are you even doing in here? Shouldn’t you be overseeing the loading of the goods?” She waited for a moment for a reply, but the man ignored her and kept feasting on the meat. “Tong!” she shouted while keeping her fan close to her mouth, “What are you doing in here?!”
“Sorry…” the large man said apologetically. He slowly put a half chewed piece of food back on the tray and wiped his mouth with his sleeve, “I came in here to tell you that we’ve almost gotten all the goods into the carriages outside.” He smiled, making his large face lift, but sweat could be seen on his head. “We’ve run into a slight problem though…” he said in a whisper, “The men want to stop loading the goods and just take what we have...” the chubby man bowed his head slightly, trying to prepare for the oncoming screams that would escape the woman’s mouth.
Mei stared at the fat man with a confused look, “What do you mean they want to stop?” Mei got closer to the chubby man and lowered her voice to a menacing whisper, “What am I paying them for, half a job?” She folded her fan up and began slapping the face of the older man, causing him to whimper with each hit. “I want those goods loaded, taken to the farms outside Ba Sing Se, and tended to until they are paid for!” She stopped hitting the man, people were beginning to watch in confusion, but a glare from Mei made many of them reconsider getting involved. She was grateful many of the guests were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice what was going on.
Tong nodded, trying to appease the angered woman, “I know what you want Lady Tan, but the men think that there are Dai Li wondering outside the manor. They won’t move any more goods out the windows of the room until they are gone…” he was silenced by a glare shot at him by Mei.
“Listen to me, you large, disgusting, relic of a man!” Mei kept her voice low as she spoke, “I want those goods loaded within the hour, and if they aren’t, you can expect me and some of my other associates to visit you and your family in the night, am I understood?” She watched as the man nodded slowly, “All of those little pest’s drinks were drugged, so they should be easy to deal with. Just load them fast, and get out of the city! The guards have already been paid off, so you won’t have to stop! Now get out of my sight!” The man nodded again and slowly left without saying another word. Mei unfolded her fan and took a drink from her glass before she sat it down on the table and looked around the room to make sure no one heard the conversation that had just taken place. The last thing Mei needed was her plan to halt completely because of a few Dai Li that may have been wandering around because of the prince. She stared around the room and smiled wickedly, hiding the expression with her fan, there were many parents here tonight; she’d make a good profit if everything went according to her plan. Throwing this party for her clients wasn’t such a waste after all, so long as nothing unexpected happened. Mei couldn’t help but remember the remark she had made towards the prince about going to join the children in the other room. She was thankful that he hadn’t taken her up on the offer, lest all her planning go to waste due to her own folly.
