Appearance;Ryumo used to have long hair, but after the defeat of the Fire Lord, he has decided to make it shorter as a sign of deliverance. The short hair kind of makes the scar under Ryumo's right eye more visible, but he figures it makes him "unique." Casually, Ryumo wears a black and red robe with gold trim leading from the waist down to his calves. There is a hood on the back with the Execution Squad insiginia right on the top. He can usually be spotted wearing various black shirts, but he wears mesh tops on occasion. Ryumo carries two metal dagger cases on his back with two slender jet black daggers resting in wait for a new mission. Taking ideas from the past Fire Nation army, Ryumo has made his own shoulder guard for his left arm, except it isn't used for armor. Various snake daggers are spread across eaqually in the lining of the shoulder guard, allowing Ryumo to use his right hand to pull these slender weapons out. His pants are simple and a bit baggy, but they are easy to move around with and are great for harsh weather such as snow and sand storms.
Traits
likes;
- The one lick of hair on his head that is annoying, yet amusing
- Besting his opponents
- Reading the various martial arts scrolls he owns
- Occassional flirting with women
- Hearing others laugh
dislikes;
- Smartasses. Being one around Ryu can get you killed very quickly.
- Failed missions.
- Being called pet names. He will allow on occassion, but for the most part....no.
- Traitors
- Not being able to finish whatever he starts
Overall Personality;Ryumo is a generally outgoing person, unless you get in his way in the heat of seriousness. If there's a mission at hand, be careful where you take the time to leisure around. He will absolutely not have it. Other than this blatant seriousness, Ryumo like to joke around from time to time. He gained his sense of humor after the Fire Lord was defeated. It was a jubilant time, so he took the opportunity to lighten up. Although, distant memories of the previous massacre of the execution squad still plague and cloud his judgement form time to time. His Execution Squad training has desensitized him to the point where killing does not bother him at all. Although, in a small corner of the thing he has the audactiy to call a heart, there is a tinge of doubt of whether or not he's doing the right thing.
History Info
Home Country; Fire Nation
siblings; An deceased older brother, Zasume, and a deceased younger sister, Mika.
history; Ryumo Sai Quan. An inquisitive young boy who, like most boys around his age, is eager to be like his father. Daten's father was a highly educated man who was the headmaster of a large literary school in Ryumo's village. Ryumo himself attended his father's classes everyday, eager to get closer and closer to that of his father's knowledge. When he wasn't at school working to the fullest of his extent, he was at home with his mother, Relina, taking care of his younger sister Mika. Ryumo had a very strong relationship with his mother. So strong, in fact, that sometimes when they would converse, they would already know what the other was about to say. Their love for each other was unquestionable and she was the number one person he would go to for help. It was just a special connection that the shared. Mika and Ryumo got along just as any other brother and sister would. He teased her, she teased him. Through this stage of immaturity, Ryumo learned endurance, a trait that would prove useful later in life. Last but not least was Zasume, Ryumo's older brother. A significant figure of authority in Ryumo's life. Zasume always gave quotes for Ryumo to know, whether they meant something or not. Ryumo looked forward to these surprise quotes. As Ryumo slowly matured in his young stage of life, he and Zasume seemed to grow distant from each other, almost to the point of not speaking. There was no malice or aggression intended, but Zasume just didn't relate to Ryumo like he used to.
Zasume began to hang around with sinister characters of Ryumo's village and pretty soon he had joined a local gang called the Shinto. The Shinto used ruthless means to intimidate the people of Ryumo's village, specifically targeting authoritative figures. Zasume began to develop a sadistic attitude that made Ryumo shun and outcast him for the time being. Ryumo was nine years old when Zasume was promoted to the head of The Shinto, and that is where the terror began. The Shinto slowly overran the village using repetitive corrupt means of overthrowing the social system. This made the members of the Shinto seem like High Class Civilians. The period in which the Shinto terrorized the village was commonly known as "The Time of Shadowed Hearts," which went on for four full years.
Ryumo's love for his brother turned into pure hatred and a desire to free his village. In an effort to rebel against Zasume by attacking him, Ryumo was defeated and given what was seen as the ultimate punishment. He was taken home, only to find his family being executed on the spot. The blood of his mother, father, and dear sister splashed on his face as his eyes twitched with horror. What frightened Ryumo even more was the look on his brother Zasume's face while the executions occured. A look of pure emptiness, as if he felt nothing at all. After the executions were done, Ryumo faced his brother with tears continually streaming down his face as he tried in vain to awake his family.
"Mother!! Father!! Mika!! Please...for god's sake...wake up! Don't leave me here alone...you promised"
Zasume felt as if Ryumo was no longer needed, so he quickly drove a blade deep into Ryumo's abdomen. Ryumo did not scream. He only looked his brother in the eyes as the adolescent tears fell from his eyes and onto the surface below him. Zasume said nothing as he removed his blade and let his younger brother slump to the ground in a flurry of emotions. The last thing Ryumo saw was his pool of blood and his family's pool of blood collect into a dark oasis of red. And the brief glint of teeth caught from his brother's grin as he exited the family home. Afterwards, Ryumo drifted into unconsciousness.
When Ryumo woke up, he found that he had lost quite a bit of blood during his unconsciousness. The loss of blood had made him considerably weak, but Ryumo fought to keep himself alive. The wound in his abdomen wasn't huge, but if Ryumo didn't treat it quickly, it would infect and he would surely die. He made his way past the bodies of his family, choosing not to look at the open eyes of each of the members. Ryumo held his wound as he stumbled out of the front doors of his house only to see something equally devastating. The village. Fire. The village had been set ablaze and bodies lay strewn about the public streets. There was no sign of Zasume or any other members of The Shinto. The smell of rotting and burning flesh filled Ryumo's nostrils like the familiar scent of a home cooked meal. He left the village and treated his wound, which left a wide scar on the right side of his body. From that day forward, Ryumo vowed to stop his brother from hurting anyone else ever again. He trained intensely, using his malice and hate towards his brother as a driving force to becoming faster, stronger, and more efficient with his attacks so that he may be able to face his brother. At the age of 15, Ryumo was a promising firebender. Never perfect, but better than most that he had seen and encountered.
Two years of searching for his brother finally payed off when an anonymous informant gave Ryumo the location of the Zasume. According to the informant, Zasume and his members had taken over a valuable piece of territory and had given themselves a period of rest. Ryumo immediately jumped at the opportunity of revenge, adrenaline almost bursting out of his body. His anticipation would finally be satisfied and he would do what he been meaning to do for the past 6 years. Ryumo found the opportunity to get Zasume alone and used it to attack. The two brothers locked eyes briefly before they began the inevitable. Both fought with a sense of tenacity neither of them knew the other had. Both had powerful bending skills and both were skilled in martial arts and common hand to hand combat. Ryumo was wounded terribly of course, the wounds including a deep cut underneath his right eye that would eventually scar, and Zasume wasn't looking so good either. Ryumo knew that he had to gather all of his hatred and power and focus it into one attack. Somthing he called "Expulsion," a state of power only released in desperate times. Although it wasted away his energy, Ryumo was able to focus a continuoss blast of flame at his brother, consuming him in Ryumo's formal blaze. He stood there for a moment with mixed emotions as he watched his brother scream and writhe in unprecedented pain. But Ryumo didn't care. This is what he wanted right? Or was it? Ryumo sat and watched Zasume die, praying that the screams and cries for help would cease. His prayers were answered. Now, he had to leave. Soon enough, the Shinto would have to come see their leader, so Ryumo needed to leave immediately. He quickly exited the location and wandered the Fire Nation for a few days, broken and battered with a pitiful look about him.
He finally collapsed in an alley, apparently given up on life. That is until a figure of unrecognizable power approached him. A man a little bit older than himself that went by the name "FiresFury." The conversed a bit, and Ryumo found out that the man was actually recruiting for members of a secretive squad of assassins called "The Execution Squad." Ryumo wished for a meaning in life, so he quickly accepted this opening. Under the guidance of this man, Ryumo trained non-stop in grueling workouts dealing with stealth, reliable assassination methods,variance of martial art styles, speed endurance, and the honor of wielding the blade. Eventually, Ryumo was worked to the point of exhaustion, but having a place in the world made him keep going. He could have very easily died during the training, but the anticipation of the future to come was too much to bear. Ryumo just had to see his supposed "promise." The end results were dramatic. Ryumo was transformed from a pugnacious youth to a reconstructed, desensitized young man, along with many other members. His hard work payed off, as FiresFury gave him the position of Execution Squad Inflitrator. A great point of success and jubilation in Ryumo's life. That is...until the betrayal began. After the trust of the Execution Squad was gained by the Fire Lord, it was immediately shut out as the Fire Lord decreed that all assassins were to be killed. The Execution Squad headquarters was raided and Ryumo awoke from a sound slumber to witness the death of his new family. Students were slain before his very eyes again and again. Everywhere he looked, he saw a body of the Execution Squad. It was indeed a massacre. Ryumo and four other members of the squad, including FiresFury, barely escaped with their lives. The others were killed and left on public display. This was a dark moment in Ryumo's life. Again, he had to witness the deaths of his family. The Fire Lord's actions had struck a nerve into each remaining member of the current Execution Squad. This would NOT happen again.
Over time, the Execution Squad secretly rebuilt itself, gathering members from all corners of the world with various skills and abilities. All would prove valuable in the planned downfall of the Fire Lord. Ryumo dedicated this period of time to the Squad, gathering new members and gaining valuable information that could hopefully be useful to the squad. His work was not in vain. The Execution Squad was finally ready and the Day Of Reckoning had finally come. The Squad moved in and everything went exactly according to plan. The Fire Lord was executed and the present members of the Royal Family were executed as well. The Execution Squad emerged victorious, and still, they moved forward. This relieved Ryumo to the point of tears. He could finally say he protected his family, because that is what he considered each and everyone of his fellow members. He hoped the feeling was mutual. Today, as an adult, Ryumo continues to do what he can with all of his power. Because your all is all you can give...right?
