The Sun Parched Plains, named only partially for their temperature and partly for intimidation, encompass the lands surrounding the City of the Joined Blood as well as bordering the Northern and Southern portions of Rockslide Canyon. With the Firebender, Ryumo, heading their operations, the Plains are home to the majority of the nation's Firebenders. They have fortresses which they occupy to ensure a strong military presence, as well as to discourage 'would-be' conquerors from invading and attempting to takeover, just as the Execution Squad did. The Plains are also home to a great number of captured Fire Nation war factories, which have since been occupied by the Legion and made safer to both the environment and the peoples surrounding them without sacrificing productivity.
