We the members of the A World Undone, in Order to form a more perfect role playing experience, establish modliness, insure relative sanity, provide for the common flame war, promote the general faile to awesome quotient, and secure the Blessings of Avatar to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Loose Set of Principles for the United Members of A World Undone.
First Amendment –Freedom to speak as you will. Freedom of the forums. Freedom to share threads with those you wish. Freedom of suggestion.
The Administration of AWU shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the content of the forums; or the right of the members to peaceably assemble, and to make suggestions upon which to improve the site.
Second Amendment – Freedom to have as many characters as you want, so long as its no more than 3. Right to complete creative freedom with your character(s).
A well regulated amount of characters is integral to keeping sanity within the boards, thus 3 is the limit on how many you may have at any time. Your right to make the character who and what you wish shall not be infringed, though it could be called into question should it resemble or be a duplicate of another persons by any given moderator.
Third Amendment – Protection from those infringing on your rights or comfort zones.
No member shall at any time have to suffer as the victim to harassment or belligerency from another member and thus has the right to report any and all offending parties to the nearest site authority figure whom will deal with the person as is necessary.
Fourth Amendment – Respect given is respect earned.
The right of the people to be secure in their amount of respect received from the general populace of AWU to another member is directly proportional to what is given to the community. Thus, if thou acteth like a douche, thou shalt be treated like a douche
Fifth Amendment – Speedy character acceptance.
No member will have to suffer the inadequacies of a slow profile acceptance from the staff of AWU. If the wait for any given character is longer than a span of 36 hours you have the right to report to a mod immediately about your situation and your profile will be evaluated ASAP.
Sixth Amendment – Trial by moderators. Right to challenge an unfair banning.
In all bannings, the accused shall enjoy the right to a retrial by a group of three moderators who are well read in the rules and will review the reasons of the ban. The reasons for the banning will be presented along with the length of the punishment and the ultimate decision will be voted on by the group at the end of the trial. If the member banned is found to be innocent then they shall have their rank within the site restored and set loose with warning for future occurrences. If however, they are found guilty they shall get no other chance to prove their innocence and will have to leave the site for the length of which they have been banned.
Seventh Amendment – Right of those in charge to revoke excessive or damaging use of any rights presented.
The moderators of this site will for any reason of those taking advantage of or abusing the rights they have been given revoke or restrict that right. So be good my friends.
Eighth Amendment – Limit of the ban date will not exceed the crime.
Should one be banned for a set number of days, or permanently the number shall not outweigh the gravity of the rule(s) which have been broken.
Ninth Amendment – Role playing freedom. Interaction with the plot.
Role playing in the boards will not be denied by any mod for any reason except those outside the bounds of the rules presented to you the member. You may take part in any thread you wish so long as you have the author’s permission or it is specifically stated that those outside of those in the thread are allowed to take part. As such with this rule any character may participate in and influence the direction of the plot so long as the change is not drastic or without the influence of another participating member who is opposing or making equal influence upon the direction of the world.
Tenth Amendment – Powers of mods and members.
The abilities and powers of those in the Administration of AWU will not abuse or use said power to infringe upon or hinder the rights and role playing of the members who populate the boards.
Eleventh Amendment – The acquisition of, and choosing of new members for administration. Removal of, or loss of a member of the Administrative staff.
Should the time come when the staff need to be expanded the moderators of the site will choose from the members and take from them the most elite and idealistic of those chosen. A vote will be taken and the winner informed. Should the winner not wish the responsibility the position will be given to the runner up, and so on and so forth. Should any member of the moderator team leave for any reason, similar action will be taken to fill the position if needed.
Twelfth Amendment – There can be only one.
The title, rights and duties of one Zin 'Smooth Hands' Cang, or Saizo as we all know him here, shall thus always and for the rest of our bleak existence remain the sole property of Mr.Cang, and cannot be passed off in any ceremony, rite of passage, or pear eating festivity. There always has been and always shall be ONE Smooth Hands, and his way with the ladies is his alone.
