Ji vs. Sanouske

Ji looked out over the feet of vessels arranged against hers. They were evenly matched mainly in numbers, hopefully they out matched them in skill. The Burning Legion was a new nation and with most of the military being made of new recruits, hopefully they did not receive too good of training. Fireballs streaked through the air and impacted upon walls of water made by the defenders of water tribe’s ships.

Ji had become bored with sitting in the Southern Water Tribe and doing nothing. She decided that she wanted a challenge, the Burning Legion Commander name Sanouske was said to be stationed here. She had sat in on several black ops training sessions and taught them water bending techniques. Ji was playing nice for now; she knew how easy it was to betray the leader. Ji would rather that the people like her when she was not producing results, after she gave people a feast off of expansion, she would rule with an iron fist.

The ship rocked as a fireball hit the deck ”Don’t let any fireball get past your defense! Make ready to attack!” Several enemy ships went forward to engage those of her fleet. Fireballs impacted harmlessly against the hulls of her ships. Most of their ships were now made of metal; the wooden ships were either decommissioned, or were used as patrol ships or fishing ships. Several fire benders flew from their ships to her fleets vessels. Icicles and fireballs arced through the air filling the air with hissing and sharp sounds as the icicles imbedded into the fire benders. Ji sighted a ship that was closest to her and the enemy flag ship.

Ji took of running left, right, left, right, left, right, then she jumped into the air. The sacks of water at her back exploded and she created a bubble of water that boosted her through the air. She moved her hands left and right moving a shield of water that absorbed the fireballs. Ji moved the bubble of water to the surface of the ship she meant to land on.

She landed dead center in the bubble of water and increased its surface tension as she landed on its surface and bended it in to force it to take the majority of the impact force. Ji stood up and moved the bubble of water out from under her and it formed a shield over her. She stood in the center under a bubble of water that acted as a shield. Fire ran along the surface. The shield was made of an outer layer of water with a hardened layer of ice underneath. It stood as a dome over her, Ji felt where the fire impacted and by extending her energy into the shield, she would thrust her arm forward in that direction and an icicle would rip from the shield and hit the fire bender. The fireballs started to curve from where their original position was. They created a constant stream of fire upon Ji; she had to hold the water wall, then re-draw water from the air to hold the shield. Ji exploded the shield drew it back in and made it into icicles that she threw them outward.

All of the men that were above deck at the time had died. Ji took of running and jumped and landed on the hull of what appeared to be the flag ship of their navy. Two soldiers approached her that she struck down with icicles piercing their chests. Several soldiers came and stood in front of Ji spears and swords leveled at the Dictator. Ji created eight rectangular blades of ice with four that spun on an invisible axis in each hand. The first soldier on her right struck out and Ji forced her right hand out and moved to make the spear go in the middle of all four blades, they closed around it and cut the head off. Ji forced the ice to turn into water and run down the shaft. Several small tentacles of water ran down the shaft and formed barbed tips that stabbed the man in the chest. Ji withdrew the water and made it back into the four blades. Several fire benders shot fire at Ji. Ji spun the blades of ice and the fireballs were stopped by the spinning blades or dissipated as they swirled around in the blades. Ji forced the blades in her left hand together as a sword clashed against them. Ji drew back and lined the blades up, swung at the man’s midsection making a deep cut that caused blood to spill onto the deck.
Ji turned to the three remaining men two were fire benders the other wielded a non-bender with a spear. Ji charged the two fire benders, gathered a stream of water and knocked the non-bender back. Ji dodged fireballs that came toward her. She made the blades in her right hand into an icicle. Ji created am ice ramp with water from the ocean and jumped into the air spinning and flipping she launched the icicle at the fire bender on the right and the four blades acted like a boomerang, only she controlled where they went. The blades spun off to the left and came back around and struck the fire bender on the left and the icicle impaled the man on the right. Ji forced the icicle to become water and shoved it into the man. There she swirled tiny blades of ice inside the man enjoying his tortured expression from his organs being ripped apart from the inside. Ji caused icicles to jut outward from the body and pulled out that water. Ji turned to the other man and shot a larger icicle at his chest. Instead of doing the same thing she caused the water to explode from within. She laughed as the man burst from the inside. Ji went to the center of the ship and said, ”Come out Sanouske, come and fight me like a man!”

Sano was prepping his ships for battle. He watched as the Southern Water Tribes ships were coming quickly upon them and he was ready. There were quite a multitude of soldiers on the ships that were trembling in fear. As he looked out over the edge of the ships bow he looked back and then threw an arm forward pointing to the ships, and immediately the men began launching fireballs at the Southern ships.

He looked out at the battlefield as he watched a very skilled bender leap from ship to ship wreaking havoc upon them. From what he could tell it was the one known as Ji. A very adept water bender who could deem to be bad if she was left unchecked.

He heard her call his name and the funny thing was, she was on the wrong dam ship. He took a couple steps back from his current position and then ran forward and leapt off the railing careening into the air using his fire bending to propel him upwards as he came down upon the ship. As he came down he breathed in deeply then exhaled quickly causing the water that had been splashed upon the deck by the sea and the bending to turn to steam as he landed softly on the deck without a sound under the cover of the heated water.

He then launched forward as he came in jumping up and coming down with a downward axe kick that brought down a high wall of flame that shot forward clearing the steam pushing it to the side aimed at the woman's back.

This lady was evidently very ruthless to others and had no intention of letting anyone survive. And he personally planned to do the exact same for the sake of his own men.

The only problem with this battle is that he is going up against his opposite Element. That means that the woman already had the upper hand against him. There was only so much he could do, but he was more keen when it came to hand to hand fighting, or so he believes since she seemed to not dirty her own hands yet. He himself had had years of training when it came to the subject and he believes the decisive moment in this battle will ultimately be who can fight better up close and personally.

Ji waited for a response, the soldiers seemed to be running for something. Ji brought some water around her and formed an armor of ice around her. Ji looked around and awaited the firebender to come and face her on his deck. ’I really hope this will be a challenge, otherwise it would be just stupid and pointless for me to do this.’ Ji shot several icicles at retreating men and lodged them into their bodies. When they impaled the retreating soldiers she caused them to explode, leaving holes where the men and women were stabbed with icicles.

Ji looked around and noticed something that was happening. The water around her upon the deck was evaporating. Steam began to billow up around Ji as the water began to evaporate. Ji caught the water molecules in the air as the steam and kept moving it upward to keep the image that the steam was not under her control and that Ji didn’t know what was happening. Ji condensed the steam around herself and it formed a dome of water around her. The fire crashed against it and evaporated part of the water as Ji displaced the water on the opposite of the dome to even it out. Ji turned in the dome and locked eyes with the firebender Sanouske.

Ji turned around as a stream of water began to branch off of the dome and flowed toward the firebender. Ji laid eyes upon him, ’So this is the wrong ship, of course you would attack me from behind, coward.’ Ji forced the stream of water at the firebender. Ji parted the stream of water before the firebender and it passed harmlessly around him. One stream came and attacked him from the front. Ji made another that came and attacked him from the side. Ji split the stream of water up that attacked the firebender form the side and formed icicles that launched at his back.

Ji stepped back and formed a wall of ice between him and her and readied her next attack.
