Appearance; Tall, with green eyes, and tan skin. Nijing has a tall slender build,slightly muscled, and tan skin. His green eyes are that of a forest deeper than the dye of the garment that he wears. He has a strongly pronounced chin, a straight nose, and his eyes set in show the grief, hurt, and sorrow he has experienced in his past. He has wrather long arms and to battle wears no helmet, brown shoulder-pads, a brown chestplate, brown armor protecting his legs with green cloth underneath. Casually he wears functional clothing, as would be appropriate fro these times where he expects an attack any minute, wearing a green shirt, brown pants, and a robe that he wears over his casual outfit. He has a scar over his eye where the murder of his wife cut him that keeps him going in life as a rememberence towards revenge

Overall Personality;Nijing is a very balanced person,as far as emotions go. He experiences a wide range of emotions often. He mourns for his beloved wife(now passed), he grievs the state of his country, he has a love for the beauty of nature. He enjoys exploring and finding breathtaking views, or new places and will bring a blank canvas and paint many scenes. When put on leave after the death of his wife Zakari he would paint to calm his very soul and heart. He finds peace in the meditation and becoming one with nature which gives him an edge in combat being in harmony with the element he uses, meditation is a key role in his achievements. He is a brilliant tactition and leads the soldiers under his command to battle with several tricks. His love of precious stones strove him to seek their origination within the craters of dormant volcanoes he loved examining the stones and practiced bending them creating shapes out of them. When the earth kingdom was whole it was suggested that he apply for a promotion towards being an admiral seeing as he is a tactition he would have been great at sea. However his fear of the sea became apparent during his first assignment as a Colonel under a Admiral when the ship was docked within the river he was begging to be let off the ship. They made fun of him for weeks after that, he never wanted to have anything to do with a ship again.

history; Nijing grew up in Ba sing Se to a middle calss family. He spent most of his child hood roaming the streets. Being very social he made many friends fairly easily. He and his friends enjoyed many games one of which being capture the flag, both teams would make their own fortress and plan attacks to infiltrate each other’s base. Within the game whoever was caught in each other’s base if tagged they would be escorted to the jail, however you can free the other team. Earth bending was well practiced during the game, from creating the base to even dueling while you were in the other teams base, however there would be no messing with the other teams base.
Nijing was always chosen as a team captain because he would create his maze of a base and always used great tactics. His way of playing the game worked by him first sending people for recon into the enemies’ base where they plot out the course to the flag. Then they would send one team member that could stay hidden to free the recon units in jail. The next step would be to map out the best way to provide a distraction while several people were sent on the least direct routes to get to the flag because they would be the least guarded. His defense was key in his victory, he would create trap doors and secret passages where the members of his team could monitor the passages of their base for enemies. Fighting did occur within the corridors mainly dirt balls no hardening rocks that could potentially harm each other.
Nijing got into the military by these games when one of his old team-mates remembered his talent as a tactical commander and recommended that he join the Earth Kingdom army with the belief that he would make a great commanding officer. His talent was discovered during a mission where he was with about 10 soldiers and Nijing was placed in second in command of the team. When the mission went wrong his CO was taken out and he was put in command of getting the mission finished and his men out of there alive. He accomplished the mission and the only other soldier he lost was the one that did not pay attention to his command. During the debriefing, both the reports written about Nijings performance and their recommendation for his promotion ensured his position of the council of five. That spot was far in the future however. He would have to go through vigorous training in order to reach that level. Tasks that would be imploring his ability to first take commands from superiors, be able to train himself to respond quickly to situations, taking command easily while under stress, and it would test his tactics and his reaction times. During his time while training he would spend his down time hanging out with his friends.
He met his girlfriend while spending time looking at the flowers she was the love of his life, the woman he wanted to spend his life with. They met each other while feeding turtle ducks and fell in love upon looking at each other. Her name was Chi Yong with beautiful deep green eyes, a flawless face, tall, thin, and she was an artist. Chi choose the meeting place for their first date. They went to a nearby mountain range and she showed him a spot where you could look out over a vast valley. This was during the spring and the valley was filled with wild flowers and blossoming trees. During their time Chi had something in her satchel that Nijing realized to be a canvas and an art set. When she started to paint Nijing asked if she would teach him. Nijing realized that he was a great artist, mainly because of his steady hand and his training for him to be able to take in the scenery quickly. Several dates were spent going to different points of interest that they loved and each would paint a different aspect of the scene. They both loved tea and would go to a local tea shop in the upper ring. Chi also had a good understanding of politics where they would debate about different views in what is happening within the Earth Kingdom.
Several years later Nijing was appointed to being a General in the Earth Kingdom. His training had finally paid off and the only people higher than him were the council of 2 formerly 5 and the Earth King. He was excited to be a part of the leading people within the nation. He served his county proudly only there was no major war to be fought, since everyone was worrying about themselves at the time and they all had their own set of problems to deal with, the earth kingdom was relatively peaceful. However Nijing saw what was going on underneath the surface and would constantly bash those that were misguided into thinking that this was a time of peace.
Nijing felt that there were things going on within the world many changes were about to occur and he wished to guide it. With the falling away toward the Bulwark a spot on the council of 5 was open and so he took advantage and applied for a position and was accepted. Although the life of being on the council was not as great as he thought, many boring meetings that took place, all in his view only looking at things surface deep and not looking at the problems that they faced and the potential issues to occur. He found himself annoyed with the council and wishes to call for reform to the council.

Nijing and Chi both shared a love for flowers and for each other. Nijing knew that he wanted to spend his entire life with Chi, he knew that he wanted to propose to her but did not know how. Nijing was strolling through the market one day when he came across a vender that was selling a crystal rose, at that moment he knew what he wanted to get her for a proposal. The only thing was that the rose was too expensive. He wondered where he could get something like that for a cheaper price. He realized that he could just make one, he WAS an earth bender, so why not just make one? So he did research and found where to go for the materials that he needed.
Nijing first filled out the proper paperwork to be put on leave. He then bought a 2 foot long iron rod. He traveled to the nearest volcano and started digging. It took him several weeks to find the materials. He needed rubies, emerald, and diamond. While there he fashioned a rose out of the materials. He covered the length of the iron rod forming the stem. He surrounded the Emerald with diamond and made the petals out of rubies about 2 inches long and surrounds them with a layer of diamond. He joins it together to form a nice looking rose.
When Nijing gets back, he makes his way to Chi’s house. When he knocks on the door Chi’s parents answer the door, with eyes that looked like they had been crying. He pulls out the rose he made and tells them that he wishes to marry Chi, hoping that him saying that would brighten their mood. They can’t resist but crying uncontrollably at the notion, thinking that they are overcome with joy or sadness, Nijing walks in and he sits down. He notices that Chi is not in her room and there is an awkward feeling within the house. Chi’s father comes to tell Nijing that Chi was murdered. Nijing is stunned the story of her death shocked him. He denied her death up until her funeral where the realization hit him that the love of his life was gone, the only person he would ever be truly happy with was taken from him by the hands of a cruel man, a serial killer who took a joy in killing women.
Nijing spent several years of his life tracking down the insane murderer of Chi and he used the rose he was going to give her to do so. HE made the petals sharp and lowered the leaves down to a hilt he had fashioned as a cross guard. He would separate the pedals and use them as projectiles. Then he would use the stem and run his fingers across its length using earth bending to hone it. He approached where the killer lived and looked the man in the face before stabbing him and severing his head. He left rose petals on his body and a note saying “for my greatest love Chi and the other women he stole, this man was done justice.”
Nijing was restless and sorrowful without Chi. He blamed himself, saying if he would not have left to make her the rose she would have not gone out alone at night he would have been able to save her. He spent more time on leave, almost on the verge of going AWL. He collects Obsidian and uses it to make the pedals of the rose making it a black rose. He would use the rose as a weapon and would kill his enemies with it from that point on.

With the death of Chi his mental state digressed, he retired from the council of 2 and would spend weeks at a time not practicing bending. After several years of not practicing he realized that he needs to make himself useful. However anything that he tried to do failed his emotional state did not allow for him to be able to do anything productive. After some time he became annoyed with society, he hated how the government did nothing anymore, all of the wrong decisions were being made. Fed up with the way things were being ran, Nijing left the capital and the Earth Kingdom and now dwells in the wilderness by himself. His time of not practicing has left him with the skills of a beginning bender.

RP Samples

Dialogue; Nijing sat at the world map while the Envoy chattered on about the actions around the world and the many goings-on of today. ‘Great, the southern and Northern water tribes are rising up, just what we needed in a time like this. What was that? We are sending troops to the said tribes? What happened to the world that our ancestors worked to build? The Burning legion has taken over and now we are sending troops to help and eradicate the remnant of the Fire Nation. Then we will be sending troops over to the Bulwark to make ensure their procession back into the Earth Kingdom once when the Spirit rift closes. Whatever happened to diplomacy? Having allies and joining together to fight a common evil force? Nothing has changed we still are all human beings! We need to stand together as one body.’ Nijing thought during the meeting.

Once the bombastic Envoy had finished Nijing said “What is wrong with us?” Nijing inquired. “We are talking here about ridiculous actions such as sending our soldiers to destroy or subdue other nations? LUDICRIOUS! These are mad times and we need unity!” Nijing stood up, slamming his fist on the map and yelled “you pompous fools sit here delegating what moves you will make next! WE NEED ACTION, the WORLD needs action! Our own worries are about our own nation and not the world as a whole!! We must realize that these are not the same times we used to live in where we could get away with having these meetings and nothing LEGITEMENT being decided from it! Our brothers give their lives daily, and for what?? A nation that only makes decisions to further the war in this world and get more young men and women killed. It’s disgusting how we are treating this situation.”

He stood in place with his chair on its back after he knocked it over. Silence prevailed within the room, the silence broke when the Envoy spoke up saying “The Avata-..” Nijing shot him a piercing look, “The avatar? Really you are relying on that old hope? THE AVATAR IS GONE! Either she died within the Avatar state or she is lost within the realm of the spirit world! There is real danger that we need to face and you are complacent with not taking action and waiting for the Avatar to save us from this mess. This is disgusting We need to think and come up with solutions! I have been coming to these meetings almost every day for the past month, and all that happens is we bring scouts and messengers in to see what is happening and make vain decisions on what should be done.”

Silence was the response to his rebuke. His voice echoing off the walls and making them realize just how alone they were in this fight. The council of 5 no longer present, the Admirals, and envoys from the many corners of their once great nation, gone. No longer was the hall filled with the muttering of voices in hushed tones that normally would follow and a declaration. An eerie silence hung over the room almost a physical force as people mulled over what was said. The guilt apparent within their eyes as some turned away from the reddening face from which the rebuke had proceeded. The Envoy, prince, the other General, and the Earth King all remained silent.

Then the Earth King stated, ”I will never let this nation fall! I will do what is best for the people! And not what is in the best interest of a meager General!” . Nijing gave him a puzzled look and retorted “Do not forget, YOUR HIGHNESS” He snarled, “you have me here to speak my mind, and if you expect me to stand by and let this nation that we pretend to defend die then you choose the wrong person. I am here to help you but I see that helping you would not be what is in the best interest of the people.”
Nijing looked around at the sullen faces as the silence entered in the chamber once again, he inquired, ”That’s all, you have nothing to say to anything I just said? This is pathetic we are the men that our kingdom will be looking up to. We need to be able to take action! Or has the recent events left just the shell of what we used to be? What are we now? SPINELESS, and weak” he sputtered, ”we cower behind the safety of our walls COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the outside world! We are complacent in playing government here and saying that everything is alright, ALL WE ARE DOING IS PLACING A BLANKET OVER A LION TURTLE!” Nijing paused letting his words settle in and added “You are wrong my Lord the Earth Kingdom has fallen, you are just too blind to see it. I shall take my leave now, thank you gentlemen, have a nice day.” Nijing stated as his absence left the room silent with no noise but the ringing door as it closed behind Nijing when he left.



Action/dialogue: Nijing stumbled within the heavy mist that had set in, looking at the dead bodies around him. Faces of young men he had loved and had taught for so long. A silence settled in as different shapes appeared within the mist. His heart racing Nijing heard the blood curdling screams of men being killed in the distance by the terrible creatures shrouded in the mist. He wanted to just dig a hole and hide in it just to get away from the monsters. With the absence of sight and the reoccurring piercing screams of his fellow soldiers his mind did the seeing for him, images prevailed his thoughts as his imagination created monsters not found within even the worst nightmares. Creatures so powerful as to take on a grown man, with such blinding speed they could snatch you from off your feet within an instant.
The fog pressed I around him and a figure appeared but… no it is just his mind, but was he hearing things because there was muttering. The figure got closer and it was a man Nijing let the man approach him and when he knew the man saw him he said, “state your name and rank!” the man stopped while trembling he said “I am-… General, there was too much- we- my whole team was wiped out! Their screams, GOD THEIR SCREAMS IN MY MIND MAKE THEM STOP!!! STOP IT” the man shrieked Nijing said “soldier, calm down! Get a hold of yourself” “their tortured faces! Their expressions I can’t get them off my mind! No stop it! There are monsters, in the mist they killed my entire team they are everywhere lurking in the mist! Make them stop.” A scream ripped through the mist and the soldier screamed and was silent as a movement swept across Nijing’s vision as the soldier was swept away and blood splattered across Nijing’s face.
He felt the cold hand of fear grip his heart. ‘Why were we sent on this mission? A spirit rift expansion should be the soldiers within the bulwarks bounds do deal with.’ Nijing thought to himself. He stood still waiting as there was a end to the terrible screams that cut through the fog. He stared as a figure appeared slowly gaining focus, it was short and as it got closer he saw the thing had no eyes and razor sharp plates that covered its body. This was one of the creatures that dwelled within the shroud. Fear caused his stomach to sink, he stood as still as he could, not making any sound as the creature stood there.
Nijing felt his heart start to race his thoughts focused upon the creature before him, then he heard it, his heart was throbbing underneath his chest. He could hear it audibly as if it were going to burst from his chest. His only thoughts were if the creature herd him, the demon form the spirit realm. Nijing felt the rubies in a pouch at his hip, ‘they would be easier to retrieve, maybe if I could do it within an instant then I could kill it and get out of this place.’ It would be a bold move but he reached out with his mind and felt the warmth of the sharpened gems that belonged to the rose in another side pouch. With one quick movement the Rubies burst from the pouch and Nijing directed the red projectiles at the beast. They imbedded within the creature and it let out a terrible cry when Nijing silenced the demon by severing its head, killing its body, and cutting off its tie to this world. He quickly felt for the rubies in the decapitated creature and with his hand outstretched they flew through the air towards him.
He felt a surge of fear as the creatures stepped toward their fallen brother. He quickly withdrew the rose within its pouch and separated the stem from the thorns and the petals. He ran his fingers down the length of the stem forcing it into a sharp blade. He was ready to kill these creatures, he hated them with all of his force and used the obsidian shards that gave the rose its black petals and projected them at the beasts as the rubies flew at the remaining creatures. Their cries most likely to draw others, He had an idea, picking up the petals, returning the roses stem to its round form and the obsidian petals to its place, and putting the 2 ft long rose back into his bag.
Nijing first bended rocks and pushed them as far as he could away while still holding them and took off running. He ran and while doing so drew attention away from himself by banging the boulders into the ground drawing the creatures to the noise. As he ran he passed the decapitated bodies of his brothers, killed by the malicious creatures that were within the mist. Brothers that would never be able to die properly, their corpses there to provide food to whatever creature within the rift that would eat it.
He left the expansion of the spirit rift a place clearly marked by where the fog ended instantly. Nijing made the long treak back to Ba sing se. During the debrief he wrote for his report about the manner of the mission and its suicidal nature. A meeting was held about the expansion of spirit rift into their territory and the few survivors of the mission were present to explain the situation.
The delegation process began and lasted for several hours. Several ideas were placed forth, the first being to just let the new expansion of the spirit rift be. The second would be to send in battle tanks kind of like those the fire nation used. The last idea brought forth was to allow the soldiers of the bulwark to gain that territory so it would be their job to defend. Many arguments were placed forth for each one and very compelling statements but letting the Bulwark claim that area was the best decision, for a number of reasons. The decision was made so that the Earth Kingdom would not have to lose more troops to defending their nation against the creatures of the spirit rift and also it put more strain on the Bulwark’s troops, this was a very strategic move on the earth kingdom’s part, it gave them a chance to take back the bulwark which would be tired of the strain of self government and would probably rejoin willingly once the spirit rift was closed. There were drawbacks to this action, if the Bulwark was powerful enough it could instead allow this to happen again and then the Earth Kingdom would shrink while the Bulwark grows. With the decision made to do so they sent word to the Bulwark of their new acquired territory.
