It had been days since Saizo had made contact with someone else. He had made himself a small camp towards the mountains of Chameleon Bay. He had been asleep on the ground in his tent. His mind was racing in his dreams, though his face seemed calm, and detached, as always. In his dream, he faced the oddest ordeals, and was told strange things. Awaking from the dream he sat up for a second, feeling even more tired than before. He looked around and even peeked his head outside of the tent, trying to assure himself, not even sure if that is what troubled his sleep. As he lay back down and closed his eyes, his mind began to race again, the same thing playing in his head...
Saizo was running through the forest, and his father was behind him. He was fourteen, and it seemed to be another of his father's training lessons, but something was odd, Saizo didn't have a weapon on him. He was lucky that he was still young and able to outmaneuver his father, until the ground around him trembled and he fell backwards, a twelve foot wall of earth rising in front of him. He was in awe and his jaw fell slack. He turned around to see his father's hands rising, causing the earth to rise.
Sai scooted away from his father until he was able to get to his feet to try to run, but as soon as he tried the ground beneath him seemed to open up and he sunk in, the ground reforming at his knees. He struggled to get away and even tried to pry the earth from around him, to no avail. He looked up and saw his father moving closer to him, a grin on his face. He watched as his father stomped and a large boulder appeared in front of him. Before Saizo knew what his father was doing, he saw the boulder heading towards him at an alarming speed. Frightened by his situation, all Sai could do was close his eyes, bracing himself for what he thought was his end. He waited, and waited, and waited. Still feeling himself in one piece, he caustiously opened his eyes. His father was standing in front of him, leaning against the boulder and laughing. "Ha. Didn't you know that I was an earthbender? WEll.. now you know huh?" His father released him and smiled, ruffling Saizo's hair, "You can do this too son..."[/b]
Awaking from the dream, Sai walked out of the tent and stretched. He headed towards a nearby stream and washed his face, trying to wake himself up. He stared at his relfection in the stream and narrowed his eyes, "Can I... Really do that....?" He paused and looked over at a few pebbles that were around him and focused on them, holding his hand out to them, trying to make them move. Nothing. Not even a twitch. He sighed and shook his head, "Just a dream.
He stood from the stream and rubbed his chin. He looked around the area and smiled as he only heard the chirping of birds. He moved a little further upstream, taking another seat, and closing his eyes. He exhaled through his mouth to relax himself. He started to meditate, the sound of the stream and the chirping of the birds helping him relax. His breathing became deep and even. His stomach expanding as his lungs were filled with the cool air around him. His mind wandered into another dream like state...
Saizo sat along the stream and opened his eyes. He was shocked to see a figure in front of him. It was a woman, she was dressed in a Kyoshi Warrior outfit and her face was heavily coated in the make up that is commonly caked onto the warriors' faces. He squinted, thinking to have seen that particular warrior before. 'Mai-dee'. He blinked, realizing that he had. He tried to get up to greet her, but found that he could not. He tried to nod his head to her, or at least speak and grab her attention, but again, he could not. He did the only thing he could, however, which was stare and watch her. He saw her doing the same that his father did in his dream, spawning boulders her height and manipulating them to her will. Again, he looked on in awe, as though he saw his father's skill in the girl. The instant he was able to speak, the image vanished. He blinked and sighed, standing and looking around again.
When he took a step, he felt the ground tremble and he instinctly paused. He looked around and warily took another step, the earth trembling again. He looked around and stomped, cautiously. In result, a boulder emerged from the ground in front of him and he stared at it. His breathing became short in surprise and he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see his father, "See? I told you boy. Now... do as I do.." Sai nodded silently, still in a stupor at what he just did. His father moved in a few movements that were standard of basic earthbending. Saizo blinked and followed his father's movements to exact detail. There were now more boulders that he summoned and then hurled into trees and the stream.
Saizo's eyes snapped open as he looked around, his heart beating faster and faster as he took in the sight that he was now beholding. He was standing now, and there were pillars of rock all around him, that went up to his stomach. He moved from his confinement, bewildered of how it got there and all he could hear was his father repeating, "See? I told you."
Saizo groaned and fell asleep without doing much work. He awoke later that night, and packed up his camp. "Perhaps... these soldiers of the Earth Kingdom.. can show me more.." He said to himself and headed towards the mountain. He took a step past it and was blown onto his back from some kind of force. He blinked to clear the dust from his eyes and looked at the people around. He looked at the cave that was formed to see a tail, moving away from him. He quickly moved back to his feet and gave chase, being surprised from what he saw. He looked up at the badger mole in front of him and followed it. He watched how it moved and manipulated the earth and rock in the mountain. He mimicked the movement towards some of the rocks that were in his path, surprised and thrilled to see how he could move the rocks as well.
Eventually, finding a way out from following the badger mole. He looked ahead of him and saw a large encampment. He blinked as he crossed his arms, "Well well... I guess there is some kind of fate huh?" He groaned as he started to descend the mountain and head towards the camp, his sheathed weapon over his shoulder and his bags on his back. As he continued towards the gates of the camp and entered it slowly, informing the guards what he could provide for the soldiers, he was lead to a shack towards the far end of the camp...[/size]
