Chameleon Bay is represented by the entire Eastern portion of the nation, and is the only place in the Earth Kingdom left untouched by war or rebellion. While the north is peaceful and out of the way from any of the violence that has enveloped the country, the small Southern portion is mostly a military province these days. With only a couple of smaller settlements on the coast of the Southeastern peninsula, the people feel the strain of their lives constantly being threatened by the rebels to the south. The North, however, is the only place that is still safe and many people reside along the coast and throughout the plains, feeling as safe as those behind the walls of Ba-Sing-Se. A single military base in the Southern hills of the mainland supplies the small arm of the Kingdom's encamped soldiers, as well as the settlements. At the same time, this base provides a sense of security to the great number of blindly ignorant citizens.
