Katon vs. Aryana

It was a beautiful day, the sun shone brightly in the deep blue sky. Many birds chirped and sung their songs out loud. Katon walked down the trail at a brisk pace intent on getting to the village before dark. He walked along listening to the birds singing, naming each one that he could define. He followed the trail and looked out as it led out of the forest and took him on a route beside the sea. He stopped and looked out in amazement at the waves crashing on the rocks, felt the salty sea spray mat his face. ’I always wished I were a great artist so I could capture moments like this and hold it forever. This would be the perfect picture with the sun at its peak and the waves crashing on the rocky shore, and smoothly caressing the sandy beach. Just the ability to take this frame and all motion cease in mind and coming out on a canvas.’ Katon thought to himself.

Katon continued on as he walked down the seaside path listening to the soothing sound of the waves. He followed the path as it led deeper into a forest, here cut off from the sounds of the ocean Katon felt unease. The whole forest felt, too silent. He decided that it was either the fact that his senses, used to much stimulation by the sights and sounds of being by the beach were not picking the slight noises that he was used to, or something was really wrong.

Katon kept walking down the path and every hair stood on end. His whole body tensed ready for the slightest sign of danger, almost thirty minutes had passed and Katon still felt the unease that the forest gave him. He realized that no bird sung its song, the wind refused to blow, and it was as if the forest itself were holding its breath as if waiting for a climactic event. The stillness caused unease, every one of Katon’s senses heightened. He felt as if he were being watched, this made him uneasy. He always seemed to have a sixth sense for these kinds of things. Many times he had been right and had foiled many ambushes from the soldiers of the burning legion.

The silence was chilling he wanted to end it, to scream to make it stop and wake up the slumbering forest. He was driven mad by it, it caused his heart to race and then it happened. The only noise breaking the silence was Katon’s feet. What should have been a gentle padding over a dirt road sounded like a legion marching down concrete. Katon chilled by the eerie silence increased his pace, but then he heard it, he heard muffled footsteps behind him that quickly tried to match his, he only herd it for an instant though. Several times while paying close attention he would interrupt his steady pace by putting his foot down faster than his pace would have him do. He strained to hear the footsteps that would still be going as steady as a metronome and quickly try to change to match his. He knew he was being followed so, in the haste of fear and of wanting to know who it was, he took off down the road as fast as he could run and when he felt he had lost his stalker, ducked into bushes at the right side of the road hoping to see his stalker run by.

Thats it Ive almost got him just a bit further! Aryana had been tracking down this man for quite some time. He had been causing havoc and has killed 3 innocent civilians. He was dangerous. On top of all that, when she tried to pursue hi before, he had mentioned a Toshiro. What could you possibly know about my brother... This infuriated her. It was a beautiful day outside though, although the sun was setting. She was wearing an all black outfit, disguising herself among the darkness that the forest brings as she ran by as fast as she could.

Over her face she had a black mask, with only to holes for her eyes to see through and her hair was up in a braid. This is it Ary...this is where you find the truth..wait.. The man had slowed down, to a walk. He was following another man. He's not alone.. she thought to herself as she climbed up, noiselessly, into a tree to follow from above. ~sigh~ Seems like i wont be making it back to the White Water Coast today... Her eyes narrowed at the two men.

Then suddenly, they started sprinting. She followed from above, not once taking her eyes off of them. One of them had escaped to a nearby bush, the other was standing there. Now! She dropped down right in front of the man in an instant and caught him by surprise, gathering water from the nearby trees and creating a long, thin rope of water then with one swift motion, bound him to the tree with it and froze it around him. When he was tied down and couldn't move, she turned to him and spoke, not removing her mask. "I hope you know that the crimes that you have committed can not go unpunished, but before i do anything.." She got closer to his face until they were eye to eye "What do you know about Toshiro Lee, speak now."

The man simply laughed and looked back at her, answering in a deep husky voice "Why would i tell you where to find him, maybe he just rid himself of his annoying little brat of a sister. He probably wants nothing to do with you, being a Fire bender and all..you are nothing but a nuisance Arya-.." The man stopped and his eyes grew wide with terror as she impaled him with a spike, right through his heart. Toshiro..I..I know its not true... Years of experience have taught her to conceal her tears, although hatred and pain was present in her deep blue eyes. She looked at him through her mask and spoke through her teeth. "Look, I don't know who you think you are...But i will make sure that you never get to hurt anyone ever again..you don't know my brother..and you don't know me, even if you somehow caught my name. Have a nice time in hell." And the men was silenced forever.

As soon as the man died the spike and the rope that was binding him to the tree had melted. The man fell to the ground and she turned to the man hiding in the bush. "I know you're there and unless you want to face the same fate as your friend here, then i would advice you to get out now." She waited for the man to come out from the bushes. I'm not in the mood for games...

Katon sat in the bushes as a man passed by, he started to make a move until suddenly a stream of water came from out of nowhere and wrapped around him. ’ What was that, was there someone else pursuing him?’ Katon thought. The man was slammed against a tree trunk and a black slender form appeared in front of him. The stranger was frozen to the tree and stayed there.

Katon settled there and waited for him/her to pass by and hopefully not notice him. The figure stared at the man. Looking past the figure, Katon saw fear in the eyes of the man iced to the tree. The black figure spoke their voice was muffled by the mask it wore and Katon could not understand what it said. Whatever it said, Katon could not understand what. Katon only hear something about killing, and the man spoke saying something about not telling the masked figure where to find someone. He was intent on listening as long as it got him out of the trouble he was in.

Katon turned his gaze farther up and down the road for an instant when he heard the man speaking come to an abrupt halt. Katon turned immediately to see an expression of pain. The masked figure clearly a woman, had stabbed him with a ice spike! ’stalker or not, that man was innocent! This person is clearly a murderer, humph most likely an assassin from some bandits. However I would not risk messing with her. This figure is more so unnerving, she seems to have a strong power about her.’ Katon thought.

He waited a silent several moments, each second seeming like an hour each. The man slumped and stayed there dead frozen to a tree. The water bender released the water around him and he fell lifelessly to the ground. She turned around and spoke something that Katon could not understand.’ She just said something about she knows I’m here and I’m going to suffer the same fate, guess I do not have that much of a choice. I am forced to fight this person.’ Katon thought. He stayed perfectly still as several more moments passed by. Hoping that she would think that he had fled, however she stood there stubbornly. The whole forest was not silent, a situation where every animal, bird, insect, tree, plant, leaf, and every blade of grass were anticipating the fight between opposite elements.
’No turning back now I have no way to run because she will catch up and being a bandit they most likely don’t take prisoners. Here goes nothing’ Katon thought to himself. He quickly slipped into the metal gauntlets that lied in a pouch on both legs. Heating them up until they glowed he jumped upward, spun to make his feet face the woman and fired a fire ball at the woman. He then used the momentum to turn himself about and fire a jet of fire from his feet that set him on a path toward the woman and readied himself to swing at her as the fire ball in front of him hid his body

Aryana didn't really get a clear image of the man behind the bush. She just stood there, she wasn't afraid, too many accounts close to this one have left her fearless of what the stranger might bring. I wonder if he's a bender... Her thoughts where answered almost instantaneously by a flicker of light and suddenly she could see a fireball and the man rushing at her. Firebender. The attack caught her slightly off guard, but she was fast at thinking under pressure. Years of training with Vareon and the other E-squad members had done her well.

As the fireball came toward her she jumped up into a neighboring tree. He's somewhere behind that ball of fire...this has to be a trick..oh how fun! She thought with a smirk. She loved a good fight, this is what she lived for. She wasn't to big either, and she was quick. Looking down, she caught a glimpse of the man behind all the flames. There he is..right on Que. But i cant stay here to long..he might find me..hmm She looked around her, noticing a slight mist higher up in the elevation of the trees. Perfect.

She looked down at the man one more time and with a smirk she climbed higher up in the tree, noiselessly, where there was the most mist and stood on a sturdy branch. She then took a deep breath and jumped into the mist, swiftly gathering the water from the air around her and using it to cushion her fall back to the ground. With one flip, she stood 10 feet behind the man, the water still floating around her, she held out her hands and made two whips with the water. Not time for my swords yet...

She looked at the man through her mask. Her face was completely serious, no emotions present on her face at all, nothing present in her eyes but complete concentration, but if you look deep within them..you could see hatred. She still hated firebenders, although she's grown to tolerate and trust a few, like Ryumo, Firesfury, and Konji but even THAT took a while. In front of her, she got a different vibe from this man, something that told her that he was an enemy, not a friend. And until it was confirmed that he is otherwise, she would treat him like an enemy.

With one swift motion she drew a few water droplets from the grass beneath her feet and turned them into tiny deadly invisible icicles and sent them flying toward the mans back. It was only then that she realized that his previous fireball attack had caused her some damage, her side was slightly burned from the closeness of the attack. Not even bothering to heal it, she looked back in the direction of the man, Two water whips in her hands and sighed. "Oh, its on."

Katon landed and realized, the woman was gone, ‘she must have taken the time that I had the fireball in front of me to escape.’ She was a water bender, and judging by her elegance and how quickly she disappeared she was a darn good one. ’I wish I did not have to fight her, yet she is trying to kill me? What am I supposed to do, let her impale me like she did that innocent man? NO WAY! If I can, I’m going to kill her.’
Katon looked around and a leave fell from a tree near him, without looking up Katon moved heat to it and set it on fire. ’up above huh, or since there is no wind it is the only way that this leaf fell? Water is supposed to beat fire, yet that does not happen without the sacrifice of the water itself.’ Katon clasped his hands together, and formed invisible heat around in between them. He started circling his hands around the ball of heat, while pretending that he did not know where the water bender was. He released the heat and formed a bubble of intense heat around himself. Katon lost track of the dark figure, ’maybe she left? No, she is still here, but where is she?’
Katon had fought a water bender before; he was part of a bandit group. Mainly they loved to attack from behind, and Katon knew that he had to keep his senses sharp. Water was a versatile element and is found in everything. Although he was fearful, Katon kind of liked the suspense, it was very fun.
Katon felt a drain of heat from his back, several icicles made contact and melted with the field of heat that he set up around himself. Katon jumped to the side as he felt water running down his right arm. He faced the water bender and then looked down at his arm, it was bleeding where an icicle had made it through and from how it looked, cut a tendon. Gah, I have no time to be burdened by this!. He quickly pressed his gauntleted hand to the cut, and used the heat from the gauntlet to seal the wound. Although it would prevent it from tearing, the muscle was still damaged beneath, ’ hopefully the adrenalin rush should help me not to feel it for this battle.’.

Katon stared the water bender down, he fired a fireball directly at her. Katon then swung both arms out diagonally, two fireballs arced out and were directed to her side. Then Katon fired a fireball that overshot the water bender, and brought it back to slam into her back. Katon drained the heat from his gauntlets and drew his sword, putting a great amount of heat into it. The heat caused it to glow and jumped forward, he quickly snapped the sword making a loud cracking sound as it incinerated air molecules. ’Let’s dance!’

There was no time to think, everything was coming at her at once. Stay calm, Ary.. She was about to dodge one of the fireballs, then it went over her head Seriously?..he mis-.. She froze as she realized what was happening..Behind. She calmly closed her eyes and listened for the hissing of the fireball..There! She simply pushed up from the ground and made a little back flip over the fireball as the man came charging from in front of her.

That was close.. she tried dodging the other two balls but one grazed the top of her upper right arm, the heat made her wince slightly upon contact, but it wasn't too much. She only had a second to pull out her sword, letting it stay in a small swamp before pulling it out to reveal an ice sword as sharp as steal. She had lost the whips when she was dodging the fireballs. This had now turned into close combat. "Alright lets have it your way..you may have this dance!" Quickly she jumped over his head and slashed diagonally down his back before sidestepping and coming back up from the front.

She channeled a ball of water and energy in her free left hand and hit toward the mans rib cage, hoping to throw him back a couple feet. This is far too close for comfort, he's good..i have to step it up. With that, she took out her second handle and put both swords into the pond, pulling out two, double-sided ragged ice blades. In the process, some of the water that was left over, floating around her.

"Ok, no more games."

With that she released tiny icicles at him from all directions and charged forward, slashing down at him with one of her swords. With new determination filling her eyes she looked at her enemy. I'm done with fire..I WILL end this.

Katon threw himself to the ground in mid-stride as the water bender made blades of ice surrounding a sword. She jumped over him and tried to cut along his back, she cut open slightly as Katon tried to evade the blow. He somersaulted and got up, jumped farther away from the water bender and landed. For a quick second Katon stretched his back he touched it, judging by the pain and how it felt it was not that deep. Thankfully the chainmail he wore took much of the blow. ”That was a bit too close, nice job, guess play times over!” Katon stretched forth his hand, fire emanating from it as it absorbed the shock from a ball of ice that flew toward him.

Katon jumped back ’No, I do have the feeling that this battle has reached a new level of intensity, better step it up in order to keep up.’ Katon jumped down to the ground, he looked up in time to see the water bender the water bender wielding double bladed swords that were tipped with horrific looking ice. ’I’m not sure that I-… DAMNIT!’ Katon raised a surge of heat to his front side and converted it to fire to block many icy projectiles. Katon was backed up against a tree as several icicles penetrated the field of fire. Katon tried to run forward but his cloth shirt was tethered to the tree by icicles. ’Oh damn how am I going to get ou- wait, icicles duh. ’ Katon melted the icicles and jumped forward.

’I’m not sure that I would WANT to do up close combat with those blades, even if I block the two above my head, she can still come in from below. No, I’ll take that barrage as a sign NOT to engage in up close combat. Let me try this!’ Katon stood straighter, he brought up his left hand and widened his stance. He forced it down jarring it as a shock of heat was sent throughout the ground underneath it. The ground turned black and bubbled under the first heat wave. Katon then brought it back up and forced his hand back down at that very same point releasing white fire that made the ground underneath it glow orange and bubble with heat. Katon brought his hand up and lava flooded from a hole in the ground. ”Lets both do arts of water bending!” Katon whipped the stream of lava forward trying to make it collide with her swords.
Katon felt pain run down his arm that was jarred due to the ball of ice. Katon brought the lava back in, it glowed bright orange with intensity. Katon then started spinning it and adding more and more heat to it. He launched it with his other arm at the water bender ”block that…” he muttered to himself. Katon jumped into the air, split the stream of lava into several tentacles just as it was about to impact with the water bender and focused about 10 streams of lava at her from all sides.

Katon brought an orb of fire into his hands, it was made up of three visible layers each swirling a different direction than the other, all three layers were insulating a heated core that he would use to have laser intensity. Katon ran forward with the swirling orbs of fire being held by both hands to his left. Left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, then jumped and landed with his back arched, left foot forward, and right foot slightly behind the left. He brought the orb of fire forward with hands balled into fists. He made opened his hands causing the layers of fire to bloom outward looking like a sunflower with three layers of petals that swirled around the blue center. The blue fire leapt forward in a concentrated beam that resembled a laser. It extended and soon brought the blooming petals forward at the water bender.

Ok..everything is going by smoothly..i can do thi-.. she didn't even have time to complete her train of thought, everything suddenly went red. Move Ary! Move Now! her mind was telling her to move but she had no idea which way to turn, she didn't know which way wasn't engulfed with flames. That's when she saw it, about 10 fire balls hurtling toward her at incredible speed from all around. There, that's it..you have to think up a plan. Now. Ary was good at acting under pressure, that is something that she learned from being in the E-squad for so many years. She quickly moved and positioned herself between two trees and smirked.

"Sorry, but I'm not in a dancing mood." with that, she quickly extracted all the water from both trees by simply placing a hand on each one. Sorry trees..but..im not about to be burned to a crisp. she continued extracting every last droplet of water from the two trees, the trees became brittle and with that, she made all the water flow around her.

As the fire balls got closer, she moved all the water in front of her and created massive wall of water , as the fireballs touched it, the water froze. "Nice, but let me ask you this..can you swim?" with that she unfroze the water and created a gigantic wave, releasing it at him. She manipulated the wave around the trees and animals to try and preserve as much as the forest as she can, making sure to hit the man. After the water has cleared, she released it into a ditch in the forest ground, creating a lake, then kicking up at the dead, brittle trees, she froze water around it and watched as she saw sharp, frozen bits of the trees hurtling toward her opponent at incredible speed, then she picked up her double sided swords and took a stance, waiting for his next attack. Alright..lets see what he does now...

Katon stood motionless, he caught his breath after the blue beam of fire and the stream of lava. The woman sucked water from several trees, blocked the stream of lava and dodged the beam of fire. ’Very nice, quick reflexes, this should be fun.’ Katon heard if before he saw it coming. A wave of water came rushing through the trees toward him. Katon stuck both of his hands out and generated a bubble of intense heat over him. The water washed over him and partially boiled away from the field of heat he generated. The amount of water was too much for it to hold and the bubble of heat broke and water washed over Katon

The water started to rush into a crevice and brought him with it. Katon surfaced, took a gulp of air, and then swam down to the bottom of the small lake. He hit the bottom and pushed off from it and sped toward the surface of the water. When he broke the surface he created a jet of fire from both of his hands that immediately boiled away the water around it causing him to fly into the air. He reached higher than the trees and steadied himself by making a constant jet of fire come from his feet. Katon took his left hand and started to make an upright circle sweeping counter-clockwise in front of him. Then when his left hand reached the 12 position he started to sweep his right hand clockwise starting at 4 position and kept going as both his hands met at 9 and he kept sweeping them along the same path. Leaving faint blue lines that traced where his hands had swept and grew larger as he went. His right hand reached 12 and his left hand reached 6 and he held out his left hand maintaining the circle of energy. Katon brought his right hand back and thrust it through the center of the electric blue circle. Lines of electricity traced to the center of the circle and met at his finger tips, the sky cracked as lightning streaked through the air toward the water bender.

Katon then sped toward the water bender by creating jets of flame from his hands that sped him toward her. He braked hard in mid-air. He slipped his hand into his arm-cannon and heated earth in the cannon trying to make it into plasma. Katon shot several bolts of lightning at the water bender. He stood waiting for her next move. ”What? You don’t want to dance with me? Well were gonna do it anyways!” Eventually the cannon around his arm started to turn red with heat.

Aryana smiled as the man was carried away by the river. Her smile soon disappeared as he swam up to the bottom of the lake and shot up at incredible speed. Her eyes did not leave his sight for a millisecond. She watched every movement with precise, seeing the exchange of enormous amount of fire. Then when everything started hurtling toward her, she had to think quick, or die.

The adrenaline rush was at an all time high. You're dealing with a Master Ary. Step it up NOW! She lifted her arms in one quick, swift motion pulling water from the ground and the moisture in the air around her, then she jumped in the air about two feet and spun around, making all the water molecules form into a gigantic ball of ice as thick as steel around her and stood in the middle, her mask falling to the ground and her hair falling untying, falling down to her lower back and strands in her face from all the pressure.

Once the fire had gone, she closed her hands into fists, a movement that shattered the gigantic ice shield and sent millions upon millions of shard hurting toward the man at unimaginable speed from every direction. Then she tucked some loose strands of hair behind her ear and looked up at him, face not hidden anymore as her mask is laying on the ground.

Her eyes turned a darker blue as she addressed the man avoiding the icicles. "Oh, but..you are just sooo busy dancing with yourself, i wouldn't dare interrupt." She said with a smirk.

Katon floated in the air as lightning ripped across the sky and collided with a wall of ice that was as STRONG as steel. The lightning impacted and caused powdered ice to come off, but the wall held and lightning glowed more intense and faded. ’Wait, because ice is another form of water, then that means that it maintains some of its same properties. That could be used to my advantage.’ Katon hovered and looked on in amazement, the wall of ice changed, almost too subtly to be noticed. Katon noticed that it looked like it was made up of tiny shards. Then the wall erupted into a cloud of icicles that sped to encircle him.

Katon had only several seconds to react and he took most of that time thinking. Katon hatched a plan that need to be performed with exact precision. The sphere of icicles was around him with him at its center. In several seconds, either he was fast enough, or he was too slow to enact his plan. The arm cannon was ready to be fired, Katon swirled the plasma inside it and the sphere started to collapse around him. He fired directly across from him and opposite of that from behind him. The icicles melted there and his plasma was used up. He flew fast to the hole he made at his back but when he got out he felt blood running down his body. The icicles had barely reacted to his movement, they arranged to impale him at the beginning of the opening. However, Katon had been too fast and the icicles only grazed him. Katon turned around and the icicle ball had collapsed completely, only it had a hole going through its center. In an instant, Katon fired lightning at the ball, the lightning glowed a more intense blue as it ran along the surface of the icicle ball. The icicles reacted to the lightning and intensified its power as it does when lightning hits water. Katon sped to the sphere and brought his right hand back and thrust it through the center of the sphere and a strong bolt of lightning sped through the air toward the woman whose mask had fallen off and hair became undone.

The bolt filled the sky with a blinding light and an earsplitting crack rang out throughout the area they were in. Katon landed on the ground and started to re-charge his arm cannon. Hopefully that finished the girl. ”Oh, you seem delusional, I can’t dance by myself! A dancer always has to have another person as a partner. Let’s hope I didn’t finish off my partner” A dust cloud stirred in the air and Katon waited for it to clear to see what would happen next. He heated the air around his finger tips to an incinerating temperature and started to seal his wounds.

After doing so, Katon dropped to his knees, he didn't feel tired. Katon felt like his head was spinning, 'Did I loose that much blood? No, even accumulatively have I lost enough blood to make me dizzy.' Katon put his right hand to his right ear and felt something cold sting his right hand, it cooled it also and started to burn his arm. Katon realized that his right eardrum had broken due to the loud crack from the lightning he made. Then he looked at his right arm, it was burned with at most a 1st degree burn. The burn didn't look so bad, but it just hurt a little. 'At least I don't have to try to seal up the wound.'

Everything was happening simply too fast. 'Concentrate Ary, CONCENTRATE!' The icicles had only grazed her opponent. 'Well ok, i guess i'll have to try ha-..' Something interrupted her thought process, not only did he dodge her attack, he was also forming a counter-attack..and by the looks of it, a strong one. 'Alright, i just need to know what he's doing..' Then one crackle in the sky gave her the answer to that 'Lightning.'

Ary maintained her composure and started looking around for all the possible ways that she could avoid a lightning attack, and came back empty. 'Damn it..a wall of ice will do nothing against an attack of that magnitude.' At the last second, she saw a lake about 10 feet to her right. 'Alright..a wall of ice might not do much against the attack..but it will give me the cover i need.' Right before the man launched the attack, Aryana swung one hand across the grass on either side of her and with one swift motion, she drained all the water from them and created a gigantic, thick wall of ice, covering all the way from the lake to the tree on the opposite side of the woods. Then, the lightning was released.

Aryana went onto a full on sprint to the lake, noiselessly. She had become extremely fast at this, training with the E-squad gave her that as well, She reached the lake and dove in, bending the water around her to make it to the bottom of the lake without a noise, thats when she heard it. Even from where she was, at the bottom of the lake, she had to cover her ears. A noise so loud, so earsplitting, that she knew at least one of the mans eardrums must not have survived that. As soon as it was safe, she uncovered her ears and started bending the air around her to slip back to the surface unnoticed.

When she made it to the surface, she silently slipped out of the water on the opposite side of the lake, there was dust everywhere and her wall of ice hadn't held up much. She saw the man on the ground, blood trickling down his right ear, she smirked. 'Perfect..a weakness.'She realized the blood running down her right leg, probably from when she was jumping in the lake and the ice wall cut her, but she didn't realize how deep the wound was. She lift one hand and healed it slightly, just enough so that she can move again.

She came up with a new tactic 'Attack through the injured side.'she dipped her hands in the water and created steel-ice claws around her fingers and approached the man on his right side. She ran up, jumped and slashed down at the man still watching the dust cloud. "Oh no I'm sorry, that is, in no way, enough to finish me."

Katon stood up, there was dust still flying in the air and he waited several seconds for it to clear. His arm was burned, the one that he forced through the hole in the ball of ice to create the lightning bolt. The lightning bolt he had just fired was powerful, Katon knew that water enhanced electricity and so he fired a lightning bolt at the ball of ice that was the collapsed form of many icicles that the waterbernder tried to surround him with. When the lightning bolt had hit the ice ball, it surged, Katon remembered when he forced more energy into it the lightning tendrils flared and then he shoved his hand in the hole and it got burned; all the power of 10 lightning bolts for the energy of one, all aided by the ice.
Now, Katon was faced with a new problem, the girl. Was she alive, or dead? The dust still had not settled and Katon was at a loss, his right eardrum broke and he was having trouble balancing. Katon looked around taking in deep breaths, ’If she is still alive then how will I be able to fight her, I will have to be more clumsy about this until I get used to not having a functioning eardrum.’ Katon looked around his eyes scanning the area where the lightning bolt had hit, a deep crater, burning trees, and shattered ice was all that remained in the epicenter of the super lightning bolt. ’Maybe the ice is what she used to protect herself, obviously if she did she failed. If that is true then I don’t have to worry and there should be very little remains. No, she is not dead though, this one is too crafty to fall yet.’
The hairs stood up on the back of Katon’s neck and he turned around just in time to see the girl charging Katon. Katon knew that he could not manage to do a precise dodge and attack maneuver, instead he threw himself to the right, keeping his injured right facing away from her.” Oh no I'm sorry, that is, in no way, enough to finish me” ’Any precise counter attack will be worthless now, my aim will be off, let’s try this.’ Katon stood up shakily and managed to right himself. He did not see the girl, for this attack, he should not have to.
Katon stretched his hands out, a small ring of fire kindled around him. Katon took in several deep breaths, with each breath the ring of fire rose higher. Then, tensing his muscles in his arms and body the ring of fire rose up into a torrent of fire about 5 yards high, swirling around him almost like a tornado. Katon knew what he was doing; this was only to build up heat. He used his left arm to swirl the fire around him. With his right hand, Katon created five fireballs around him; he maintained a stance where his left arm stretched toward the sky swirling around causing the torrent of fire to swirl. His right arm was pulled close to his body running parallel to his body up and down. Kaotn’s hand made a claw that controlled the five fireballs around Katon; his right hand was positioned in front of his face. Katon spread out his feet to widen his stance, he tensed his whole body; his back cried out in pain as he flinched for a second but kept going on. When his whole body tensed the torrent of fire swept a little higher and became more violent for a second. Katon’s left hand shot down and became parallel to his right, at that moment the torrent that had grown extremely volatile for a second collapsed in a millisecond joined the four fire balls that were spinning around Katon like the planets orbit the sun.
Katon crossed both arms with his in front of his face, he tensed his muscles and his right arm burned terribly, ’I can’t go on like this, this will have to be one of the last major attacks I am going to do.’ Katon was stalling just to get used to having one of his eardrums broken. When Katon tensed his arms, the fireballs burned with more intensity and started to glow blue. Katon uncrossed his arms and while keeping his fingers looking like claws he brought his arms out. They still faced up and down and were parallel to his body, but were spread out. The balls of fire started to spin faster, heated blue by the intensity of the fire that was added form the torrent he had just collapsed. Katon then set his legs farther apart, arched his back as the fireballs grew a brighter blue and swirled around him faster. Katon shoved both his arms downward and within a second the fireballs expanded to form a dome of swirling volatile fire over him. Katon crouched sweating under the heat and pressure with a blue dome of swirling fire over him. He brought his arms in as fists and thrust them out to his side unclenching his fingers and the dome of fire exploded outward. The dome was fire that was tightly compacted and maintained. Katon meant it to be able to cover a wide distance. His entire attack only took about 40 seconds to perform. (But I wanted you to visualize what he did, and what was in my mind.)
Throughout the entire attack Katon was swaying, forcing himself to maintain balance with only one functioning eardrum. Katon stood in the center of a burning circle about 15 yards in radius. Katon ran around, still a bit clumsy and off balance. He tested his abilities by firing a precision bolt of fire at the ground and it hit several inches from where he was aiming at. Katon quickly took a tube out and rubbed ointment over his arm, the burn started to numb and healed slowly, the gash in his back had grown but the adrenalin was keeping him from feeling the full onslaught of the pain. Katon searched around him looking for the waterbender. ”So… Was that enough to kill you?” Smoke billowed from the area as small trees that were knocked down and trees that stood up were set ablaze, the water was steaming from the heat of the fire that rolled over it. Katon took out a pill and put it in his mouth, it was a warriors stamina pill, it would help him to fight if he needed energy.

Aryana's smirk soon vanished at his new attack, although she avoided all the others, this one was different. She didn't want to admit it, but she was worn out, and although she healed herself, she didn't have the time to fully heal herself, and she had ran out of tricks. 'Aryana! Pull yourself together! Giving up is NOT an option.' She shook her head trying to clear it, and looked over at the lake again. 'If anything...i feel more alive in the water.'

Before she even had time to think about running toward the water, the attack was launched. 'This is it..' She didn't have time to think she just shielded herself with the last bit of water she had, which seemed to have softened the attack slightly, but it still hit her with enough strength to knock the breath out of her lungs and she found herself laying on the ground, in the middle of scorched trees, barely able to breathe.

Little by little, her heart started to slow down as she thought about all her loved ones..her squad members..and the brother that she wont ever find. ”So… Was that enough to kill you?” was the last thing that she heard before she closed her tear-filled eyes "I...I..failed.." was the last phrase she muttered as her heart went silent.
