Whoosh! The small ball of fire went as it breathed it's first breath into existence. Coming to life by the ruby eyed boy accelerating the particles in the air, increasing their thermal energy making them ignite into the tiny flame that was held ever so delicately by the teen who was illuminated by it's warmth and soft light. Using that light he extended his arm out ever so slightly, using it like a lamp, he looked at what at the strange white powder that blanketed the ground. Snow was something that was very foreign for the young firebender. The idea that there were places so cold that it actually froze water was kinda eye opening. Especially to someone who thought the warm winters of the Fire Nation Refuge, which almost never got below fifty, were enough to make him want to snuggle a blanket.
Taking a deep breath for good luck. Nikkou was slightly surprise when it felt like thousand of tiny ice cold needles were prickling the inside of his lungs. His free hand quickly shot to his chest, grasping and patting it to make sure he wasn't dying. "Whew..." He exhaled. Watching as his breath came out as a small cloud of fog. "Well, that's kinda cool I guess." Doing it several more times for the sake of easy entertainment before he actually progressed Nikkou take that last step off the drop bridge, stepped onto the snow and turned back to give some of the ship's crew a farewell wave.
Five minutes hadn't even passed before Nikkou was shivering in his boots, his teeth clattering and he was spewing ill-mannered words from his mouth. "Dragon knows why anyone would want to live anywhere where hell itself froze over." He muttered through clenched teeth as he pushed through the snow. Which he had somehow managed to sink into where it freaking was up to his shins. A few more curse words later the teen finally pulled his legs free. Then regrettably increased the volume of his flames. Although he was thankful for the extra heat it gave.
Taking a moment to bask himself in the warm tingling light before he marched forward. Sighing he wished he could take back his foolishness, and had made it so he arrived here during the day. However, he had been extremely paranoid. So he choice to wait till the sun set before making the ten minute hike for town. "Oh it's just ten minutes. I can handle it." Mocking himself under his breath as he came up to the gate. Extinguishing his ball of fire he wrapped his armed around himself. Rubbing his mittens up and down as he walked into through them. Not willing to waste time sight seeing he quickly rushed around the city.
He needed to find a clothing store before he froze to death.

As the cold air forced its way through the crack in the shutters in his humble rented room in the Northern Water Tribe, Sano got dressed as best he could. Yanking on his usual attire, which involved a pair of black pants and a silk shirt. A majority of the people gave him sideways looks when he first arrived in the city, wondering how he was able to stay warm in such a climate. The secret was behind his Fire Bending techniques. Using the initial spark needed to create a flame on the majority of his body when the cold started to get to him. It was quite useful. Yawning he pushed his door open and walked down the hall, waving to the inn master as he pushed his way through the front door into the morning light.
Sanosuke was up North for a charity mission of sorts. He liked to keep good relations with all the nations, making sure to appease all their needs. Today he was here to help the families of those lost on the Bulwark against the spirit rift demons.
He walked nonchalantly down the road nodding to the men and women that passed him kindly as they responded in kind. As he strolled through the snow towards the Orphanage he took note of a new face strolling through the front gates, about 4 blocks to his left. He stopped an evaluated the situation, taking note on the mans features and apparel. From the pale skin and dark hair, there is no way he was from the North, or even the south. That hair and skin combination happens only in the west side. Perhaps he was one of his citizens? Or maybe a Earth Kingdom child. But certainly an outsider, doubly so since he wasn't anywhere near dressed for the weather. Shrugging, Sanosuke pressed forward onto the Orphanage.
As he gently opened the front door, he was instantly swarmed by children, all tackling him and screaming his name. "woah woah woah," he chimed smiling "Hmmm....how about today we all go out and get some new coats hmmm? What do you say?" he asked the children. They all shouted in agreement and ran off to gather their shoes and what ratty jackets they owned. "Everyone ready? Lets get a move on then!" he proclaimed loudly ushering out the kids one by one.
Leading all the children in a line they all followed him to the local clothing shop, waving to the owner. "I'd like to purchase a few of your jackets good sir" Sano said as over 15 kids stared up at the owner with smiles and amazement at all the clothes in the store.
As the kids ran around the store having fun and searching for what they would like, Sano leaned against the far wall near the entrance, making sure a straggler didn't get loose and get lost. He chuckled to himself and watched the kids. "Is this what a childhood was supposed to be like?" he asked himself in his mind. Shaking away the thoughts, he just watched on.

More of the frigid air was yanked into Nikkou's frost filled lungs by a surprised gasp that escaped through his lips. His body froze in place briefly from the shock of feeling a cold chill shoot through his spine. As if the tip of an icy skeletal finger traveled lingeringly down his back. The further down it went the more cold air that was inhaled until it finally reached the bottom. Once it the feeling had passed Nikkou gained control over his body again, but not before it gave a violent spastic shake. Lifting his head his eyes dratted from person to person in the crowd of people. Despite being no better than a new-born to the freezing temperatures Nikkou, or rather humans as a species, generally had a sinking feeling when they were being watched.
And, the firebending teenager was absolutely right. He was being watched... By nearly everyone who happened to be strolling on-by the gates. A mixture of amusement, pity and confusion glances were shoot the male's way. Embarrassed by the strange looks he was getting Nikkou tried a quick scan of the masses. His ruby eyes picking up details of how the natives dressed and the type of people that were around him. Mainly waterbenders, given their complexion and clothing, but there were a few foreigner mixed in. First, an old woman mixing most of his teeth. A man with spiky brown hair. Then lastly some girl hanging around a bunch of boys roughly her age. "Heh, guess I was- A pause "CHOO!!!"
Mid-sentence Nikkou was stopped by the bone-chilling wind and the chest wrenching sneeze that followed. Suddenly reminded that he was standing knee deep in snow in the north-pole wearing nothing more than mittens and a paper thin jacket for extra protection. He quickly hurried towards the nearest clothing store. Pushing his way through the door it loudly clicked shut behind him. Promptly gaining the owner's attention. "Uhhhh... Sorry? I guess? half-ass apology waved off, Nikkou began to walk around the aisles. His body slowly thawing out in the warmth of the shop until he could actually use his hands to move coat after coat aside.
Guess I should avoid anything Fire nation related. He thought as he pulled free a more older Earth Kingdom inspired style coat. Shrugging his shoulders at the ideal that it'll do he flings it over his right and begins to walk toward the register. Only to be cut off by some guy and his horde of children. Eye twitching in annoyance Nikkou took a deep breath. His level head showing as his face once again became a blank.
"I'd like to purchase a few of your jackets good sir"
Well yea, no shit money bags. He thought behind his emotionless mask. Although he did let a sigh of relief slip once the kids finally ran off to go searching. placing the coat onto the counter Nikkou waited while the owner gave him the price before paying. As soon as the payment was settle the ruby eyed teen quickly slid the coat on. Welcoming the warmth it offered greedily as his ruby eyes peered through his bangs. Taking one last look at the army of children that littered the store. Just in time to notice that one of them as forcibly pulled a sweater free causing the rack to begin falling towards them.
Acting quickly, a slim arm shot out, grasping the boy by his collar and roughly pulled him back. The clothing rack hitting the ground with a loud audible thud. Shifting his sight from the mess to the kid Nikkou placed his hand on top of his head and began to guide him toward the silk shirt wearing man. "This belong to you?" Nikkou asked blankly as he came to the man. Coming to a soft stop once he was a few feet away.
