Appearance; His size is generally something to cause pause for most people. He carries his rune engraved blade of cold black steel and a 4 inch dagger strapped to his belt, which stands inches shorter than himself. He is constantly in his black, battle-worn armor and tattered red scarf. He has a scar running down his back, across his cheek and burn marks on his arms and legs. He has a tattoo that runs across his shoulders that reads "As the nations burn, the demons rise, My blade stands firm to stem the tide.".

Overall Personality;Gale tends to be more on the reserved side when it comes to regular day interaction with people and watchful of his surroundings. He has this tendency to look through people instead of at them. Gale is a monster on the battlefield. The moment he draws his blade, he turns into a force of reckoning. He commands the battlefield as though he was raised on the field of war. Though his overly serious personality is all there seems to be, Gale is a skirt chaser. His perverted side knows no bounds, frequently putting him in hot water with husbands, fathers, and girls in general though he would never actually commit to anything with any of them. Gale also has a soft spot for kids, as he once had one of his own. He holds Brothers in Arms closer than anything in his life. The bonds forged in battle. His will in battle has never faulted. Out of battle, he doesn't always know what to do with himself and sometimes suffers from the quietness of everyday life, struggling with everyday tasks and never quite knowing how to interact with people, thus why he is so quiet when out of battle. His temper does get the best of him from time to time in the middle of a crowded plaza and he begins attacking random strangers, so he usually avoids heavily populated areas and sticks to open areas and small groups of trusted people. He has sworn to destroy the Spirit Rift and all those that helped create it, should they still live and holds no interest in anything of a serious nature outside the front line of the Bulwark and the Spirit Rift itself.

history;Gale grew up on a plot of land in the western region of the Earth Kingdom, now known as the Spirit Rift. His family owned the land and had been there for generations, growing cabbages. Even as a child, Gale knew this was not his calling and picked up the sword instead. Once he became old enough, he enlisted in the Earth Kingdom army. He fought in the war between the United Earth States and the Earth Kingdom, he was deployed to the Fire Nation to assist in the escorting of the Royal Family, or what was left of the hierarchy, off to the Earth Kingdom. After that he had obtained the rank of Captain inside the Earth Kingdom army and was well known as one of the highest ranking non-benders in the army itself, proving himself over and over through his prowess in battle and his capacity to lead his men to victory and preserve the lives of most of his soldiers. Though in the major battle of the separation of the Allied Earth States, Gale knew if he didn't pull back, he and his men would be overrun by sheer numbers. Though he proved right, as many other commands who held their ground were destroyed, he was court marshalled and stripped of his post and severed from the army. He was returning home when the Spirit Rift first appeared. He watched his home be obliterated, with his wife and son still inside. He was the first to kill a demon and the first to survive an assault from the hellish place. Since then he has practically lived on the front line, in every major conflict at the Bulwark, and most major conflicts the Earth Kingdom has had its hand in, in the last decade. He acquired his rune etched blade from a demon that he slayed in one of the fiercest battles he had ever encountered. The beast never seemed to tire, as he was sure the battle raged on between the unrelenting forces for hours before finally the beast fell and Gale claimed his prize. That was the same day the men of the Bulwark gave him the title "Demon Slayer". For a time after he claimed his title, he left the Bulwark and traveled to various parts of the world. He created quite the ruckus in the Burning Legion in one of his fits of rage, lost control and began beating people in the streets. The fire benders there drove him off after severely burning him and he killed several of them with his bare hands.
